We have reached agreement with Real Madrid C.F. for the transfer of Luka Modrić. The deal was closed in 35 million euros plus the midfielder Nuri Şahin.

The Croatia international joined us from Dinamo Zagreb on the 2008 summer transfer window and went on to make 147 appearances.

What a piss-take by Newcastle and funny thing is Liverpool might accept it. Of the numerous dodgy deals we've done since the takeover (and some before like Badbuy) nothing would come close to Newcastle getting Carroll back on loan a year after selling him for £35million.
