It won't happen this season 1000% but it looks like usual El Clasico business.. they make false attack one year to distract player and then come for him next season when he is already pushing for move.

Madrid did it with Ronaldo, Barcelona with Fabregas etc, etc

So, yes, it could cause some problems with Silva next year. Hope it won't though, he's pretty much irreplaceable. He'll leave at some time for sure but it could be good if he would stay for at least 2 more seasons.

Unlike Catalan boy Cesc Silva is has no emotional attachment to Real and unlike former United and Lisbon forward Christiano Ronaldo David is a good appreciative bloke

As far as I know from reading media he is Real Madrid fan since childhood

But unlike Cesc and Barcelona he did n't develop in their academy and comes from the canary islands not the geographical area around Madrid, Owen and Carragher were everton fans but the scouse bastards played for liverpool, being a child hood does n't neccessarily weigh heavy on professionals career paths. As an earlier poster pointed out the spanish clubs are heavily reliant on backing from Banks, the banks aren't in a postion to give them the cash it would require for Real to give us an acceptable bid. He is staying put for now but I would n't panic if he left we would get in a good replacement.

Time to settle down again. Reported by Setanta as well as a few other websites today (sorry if already posted, don't think it has been - not on this forum anyway):

http://www.setanta.com/ie/Articles/2012 ... id-145741/

Quote:
David Silva is poised to sit down and discuss a new five-year deal at Manchester City and snub increasing interest from Real Madrid.

The Spanish giants are reported to have made the mercurial midfielder their big transfer target of the summer and have earmarked £50million to prise him away from the Etihad Stadium.

But the player has already made it clear to both City and his agent he is happy in Manchester and is willing to sit down and discuss an extension to the two years remaining on his current contract.

That could see Silva join the likes of Sergio Aguero, Carlos Tevez and Yaya Toure on around £200,000 a week, and the 26-year-old would like to tie his long-term future down.

Silva's agent, Julio Llorente insists: "David has a long contract with Manchester City, and he's really valued there. I don't know what could happen in the future, but Silva wants to stay there."

The player, himself, added on his own website: "In only two years I have been able to win the most prestigious titles in England: the FA Cup in 2011 and the Premier League in 2012.

"I feel very comfortable here from when I arrived and nowadays I have just felt like a complete 'Citizen' man.

"I hope next season we will get more cups and also make a nice Euro Cup with my national team!"

As long as he can and his better half/s can put up with your weather all will be fine.

He can visit the relatives any time he wants and do a bit for the flagging airlines in England and the British economy.

Something drastic in his personal life would have to happen for him not to see out the rest of his contract.

Whats wrong with our weather, without the rain we have, Manchester would not be the City it is today, need damp weather to spin cotton, the city boomed on cotton. For them used to it it isn't a problem on a positive side no chance of drought in the North West that is for sure. :-)

The weather is all relative. Manchester has more than its share of wet weather and that can be depressing to those used to a drier climate. Now I live in Tennessee where it is blue sky most of the time. Sounds wonderful, however, today the temperature is 32 C and add humidity to that and it feels closer to 37 C.

What I'm trying to say, is that David Silva is reportedly happy in Manchester despite the weather. He obviously likes playing for City, his teammates and the coaching staff and that outweighs any negatives about the weather.

Amazing isn't it, the tabloids put out story after story then come back with the old 'Snub' article which puts everything back the way it was.

It's fucking easy this journo lark.
