Schalke were pretty impressive this weekend. Also Bayern's 6 goals in 15 minutes was pretty impressive! Hope Dortmund can get back on track but I don't think they will win it again this season.

The funniest on the Bayern win is that all defensive midfielders that have to be frightened for their starting spot due to Martinez arrival had a goal yesterday and played really well. And Müller lives up because Gomez is not on the field and it is better for him to play with a more mobile striker. But that is what we always somehow new - with another type of striker this might not get as much goals but therefore Müller and Robben and some others would have more goals.

Found a short video of the Berlin Derby between Hertha and Union Berlin.

Think there were a couple of people on here who have been to the "Alte Försterei" before and might enjoy it. ;)

Seems like Ruhr is either slacking or still wanking himself silly over Draxler´s goal against Fürth. ;)

He had a great game and is yet another German future midfield talent (but you lot knew that anyway).

Results of the weekend:

FC Augsburg-VfL Wolfsburg 0:0 (0:0) -> Boring match.

Borussia Dortmund-Bayer Leverkusen 3:0 (2:0) -> Dortmund starting to look better now and slowly seem to get back on track.
Summary of the match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_MxAQoBFW4

Bayern München-1. FSV Mainz 05 3:1 (2:0) -> Martinez/Schweinsteiger Midfield will be sick once Martinez is fully fit again. Whole team looks promising even without Robben/Ribery and Mandzukic scored again. Doubt that Gomez will get back into the starting eleven anytime soon as Mandzukic is just the better player. Not better striker, but overall more beneficial to the way Bayern plays.
Summary of the match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFTMGF9AjRw

Borussia M'gladbach-1. FC Nürnberg 2:3 (1:2) -> Luuk de Jong finally managed to hit the goal, he seems to be an awesome player but at the moment just seems to have a ton of bad luck. However Kiyotake (next Kagawa) was MoTM for Nürnberg. Looks like a promising addition to their team and brings a lot of creativity and this little element of surprise.
Summary of the match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_SZsKt2YM6w

VfB Stuttgart-Fortuna Düsseldorf 0:0 (0:0) -> Boring game

Hannover 96-Werder Bremen 3:2 (2:1) -> Crazy game for Hannovers Huszti as he scored an awesome freekick to get Hannover 1-0 up in the derby, got an assist for the 2-0 and then scored the winning 3-2 in Minute 90 just to get booked and sent off immediately for taking off his shirt and then climbing up one of the fences. ;)
Summary of the match: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dqHEST78YY4

SpVgg Greuther Fürth-FC Schalke 04 0:2 (0:0) -> Draxler is running the show for Schalke and is only 19 years old. Nice goal from him as well:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AGg0JYmKYU

SC Freiburg -1899 Hoffenheim 5:3 (2:1) -> Hoffenheim is where they deserve to be. Shit team, shit fans, shit club and lost their starting 3 games. Hope the scum gets relegated and will never be seen again in the top tier.

Eintracht Frankfurt-Hamburger SV 3:2 (2:1) -> This match was all about Van der Vaart, however a great midfield player doesnt help if the defense is just utter shit. We went up 2-0 early, then Hamburg scored the 2-1 right before halftime and then Jiracek gets booked with red and did his team a huge favour. After halftime we score the 3-1 and Hamburg only manages to get the 3-2 due to some shaky defense work from Zambrano (taking Messi out of the game when Peru played Argentinia, but obviously keeping that form for us is difficult.). Anyway, not going to complain....we only got promoted and managed to gather 9 points from the first 3 games which no one would have expected.

Mandzukic might be the reason why Müller lives up so much recently. But maybe it is because they play faster again and with more variations. Martinez just looked really good when he came in. He just has a special way to move. I think they were right - he is that last puzzle part we needed. I do not want to be the coach right now. I do not know who I would bench - the little injuries Ribery and Robben have right now might even help a little bit.

It is for sure the best Bayern team I have seen since the 70s. And the best ist that they still have a couple of years ahead - all with long contracts. Kroos, Müller, Badstuber, Alaba are still so young - and even the older ones like Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Ribery and Robben are below the 30s.

Eintracht Frankfurt has won in Nürnberg with 2:1 and leads the Bundesliga with a clean sheet. Bayern has to win tomorrow in Gelsenkirchen against Schalke to get the no. one spot back.

Great start for Eintracht, they are one of our partner clubs but looks like they have a good enough squad without needing any of our fringe players/youths on loan now so not sure how much the partnership will be used... which is sad as I would like to see some of our young players loaned to the Bundesliga or 2. Bundesliga.

We had indeed a great start, even writing history as the first team that got promoted and wins the first 4 matches in a row. Never happened before in Bundesliga history. Besides that it was even the best season start for my club ever...

Anyway we might be top at the moment, however every point we gain is a point against relegation.

Our team certainly has some talent this time around and we play some nice attacking/posession football (bit similar to what Swansea did last season), but the depth of our roster is not able to compensate bans or injuries.

We lost our main striker and our captain yesterday, still won, however I am a bit afraid that we will run out of steam sooner or later simply because our depth is not enough.

So if you are willing to send Balo or Kun on a loan I am not saying no! ;)

Jokes aside I am enjoying the football we play at the moment and we have some promising youngesters with Sebastian Rode, Takashi Inui (great goal by him again today) and Bastian Oczipka.

Enjoying it while it lasts! ;)

Negative sideeffect was that some of our fans became a bit too enthusiastic and a silly amount of flares was burned right before the match started.

Means we will have to pay another huge fine while we are not exactly a wealthy club. :( Other than that it will again open the discussion on the removal of safe standing.
