Hi all, bit random one, but a red dipper mate of mine (hes 30, and never seen them play Live) has said the following, i just wondered what ppl thought, i think its the biggest pile of **** ive read, but maybe its just me!?!

I think Joe Cole could of been a fantastic player, very skillful but due to injuries and other things it never really worked out.

completely agree with you, i think its the fact he's saying hes one of Englands best players in last 20yrs, not could have been but he saying he has been. crazy.

Good player, could be a liability though as he gave the ball away to often, this is why a succession of England's managers didn't play him as often as his talent may have warranted

Personally i reckon Ashley is the better of the brothers.

In his early days he looked nailed on to be a quality central midfield playmaker. He had a talent very similar to David Silva
His move to Chelsea actually fucked his career as did SWP's and that ginger lad from Reading
When he looks at his medal tally after he retires he'll see plenty, but he'll know deep down he never reached his potential

I think he's sort of similar to Walcott, not in regards to their style of play, but in that at an early age he stood head and above his peers. I think this lead to people presuming he would carry on progressing in his early twenties, eventually reaching a level where the top players reside. I just don't think he ever really advanced and grew into the player people thought he could, and would.

Could be absolute class 'in the hole', but due to the general shit nature of the England team, he was deployed too much on the left.

Possibly the biggest waste of talent in the last 20 years. He should have been so much better, getting stuck out left didn't help him but we had no other options as all the best left sided players were not English.
