Last weekend, as reported in the Cellar, I took over the Longhill Ravens Under 7's team in the Hull Boys' League. So far, they've played twice, lost both times, scoring zero and conceding 20. Tomorrow is my first match in charge. We pray for a goal. My 5 year old lad is playing a year above himself.

Chelsea, the red bastards and City have all played and Liverpool don't really matter. I'd like you all to root for my lads in the morning. A goal would be great, a win - amazing.

Good luck kev. Keep us updated. A few goals would be nice and the wins will soon follow. I'm sure after your training this week the kids are more prepared.

The shock on my missus' face this morning when I came home with last week's dirty (by mistake) shirts and asked her to show me how to put a wash on was worth it all by itself.

What do I do for Man of the Match? Last week, my lad got it from the referee. He's very good despite being a year below. Should I ask the ref to choose every week?

Ask the ref for an unbiased opinion. My lads team the manager usually chooses. Tough call mate, you can have the inevitable task of choosing and upsetting a few parents or ask the ref and he'll decide.
