Best of luck to them.

Surely they would get much more than £200m for the land at Stamford Bridge. They would get a £1bn easily. You are looking at an area that has among the highest land value in the world.

If they move to Battersea they will be able in a position to buy great players and play some electrifying football.

Chelsea Pitch Owners plc also owns the name Chelsea Football Club Ltd, which is licensed back to the club on condition that the first team play their home matches at Stamford Bridge. This means that should Chelsea move to another stadium in the future, they would not be able to use the name Chelsea Football Club without permission from 75% of CPO shareholders.

Chelsea are part owned by a commitee. God help them!

Chelsea made a proposal to buy back the freehold land (owned by CPO) on which Stamford Bridge sits. The proposal was brought in a general CPO meeting on 27 October 2011 but failed to pass as only 61.6% of the total votes were cast in favour of the proposal, below the 75% minimum requirement.

Are the building the entire stadium within the power station, or do I not understand the plan?

If they want to move forward they will have to bang their heads together.

They have identified the preferred land.

Not if you can offset the development costs with the sale of some prime real estate (current stadium) and the other development of the site. I think it's a great way to keep an iconic landmark and bring the land into use again.

They can't do anything with SB as club doesn't own it

I think it's a brilliant idea, and I'm (soon to be) a planner.

Brownfield site, I'm sure it'll be a heritage site, something like grade II... But with it being muted to keep the iconic concrete chimneys, but there's been other 'potential investors'. From the local authorities view, they might think enough is enough as it's been derelict a while and not much else going for it + the Community Infrastructure Levy means the club would have to pay for the improvement of the train/underground station upgrades etc.

Architecturally, it would be amazing, and if they were to adopt more brickwork and more modern techniques and materials it could look beautiful.

Reminds me of the Indianapolis Stadium... Looks like a warehouse!
