Was wondering what people think our team should/could be for the World Cup in Brazil. If players progress as they should I think this could be good:

Hart

Richards Smalling Cahill Cole

A Johnson Gerrard Wilshere Oxlade-Chamberlain

Rooney (spits) Welbeck

Depending on the progress of Walker, he could go to RB and we could move Micah into a central role. If Lescott is still at the level he is now then should easily be a starter still. No doubt expect to see Diego Jones and Zinedine Cleverley in there though.

OI!

Get it right, mate!

It's Duncan (Edwards) Jones.

;-)

I would have thought that Daniel 'One greedy bastard' Sturridge will be there or thereabouts, too.

Smalling ahead of Lescott?
Johnson, (Adam), in there at all?
Can't see Gerrard having another tournament in him 2 years down the line to be honest.

To be honest Smalling is the one English rag player who I actually think isn't over-hyped and has the potential to be a great CB. Like I said, if Lescott is still playing regularly for us at the time then he should walk into the team but I'm not sure he will be. Adam is on the right wing although the other poster suggesting Sturridge is a good shout, depending on how they both progress. And agreed with Gerrard but I still would rather have him in there than Cleverley. Only other English CM who I think could potentially be in there instead is Rodwell.

Hopefully Josh McEachran can progress strongly in the next two years as a midfield featuring he and Wilshere would be very exciting, two technically gifted young players. Unfortunately McEachran isn't getting much chance to develop right now, Chelsea are as guilty as we are these days for not giving young homegrown players a chance (Bertrand aside and that was because of injuries) and Rodgers wouldn't give him a chance when he went on loan to Swansea, reminiscent of Weiss and Kakuta at Bolton (so much pressure now in the Premier League that coaches are scared to play these clearly talented young players).

....will be full of the usual suspects, picked entirely on its ability to sell shirts and will as always, get humiliated.
