But none of them.

Let's take a young team to bed in so there ready for Brasil. With all the political strife in Ukraine England might win it by default as we won't support the EU boycott of the country.

I go for this, forget the old guard lets star from a fresh and build a new team for the next world cup.

I can see your point, but would you drop any player that is the captain of the team that has just won the FA Cup and been a vital player in helping his team to a champions league final over a kid, just because he's younger ?

For morale reasons you can't take Terry really, though he's been in better form this season that Scooby. Until last night that is. But Scooby's been poor all season.

So I'd also take neither. Lescott should be right up there in Hodgson's thoughts, never causes a fuss but is a key English member of the (hopefully) Premiership winning side of this season.

Lescott
Jagielka (if fit)
Cahill
Richards
Smalling
Jones
Walker
Baines
Cole
Johnson

There. Ten players that cover all standard back four, ability to go to a 5 if needed (and it could well be), and no need to touch the 'old guard'. Richards RB or CB, Jones CB or CM, Johnson either flank (ok not first choice on either, but ok cover).

Terry's a known strong influence on a squad anyway. Hodgson may find that appealing with such a short space of time available, but no way he will pick him I'll bet. I can see him going with Scooby for experience though.

Terry has been winning all sorts for years and its never done England a dam bit of good.

Do what Germany did.
Ditch the old ones, bring in the younger generation for experience and use this tourement as a springboard for the World Cup campaign

Terry or ferdinand = shit or bust. Terry is just a nasty piece of shit (slow and dirty) and ferdinand is just bust and has been bust for a couple of seasons now (gets the piss taken out of him [in footballing terms] too often to represent his country . . though I do love to see him play for the rags 'cos he's a has-been and almost always drops amusing clangers nowadays.

I wouldn't take either though I would be entertained by seeing them fight to the death with kitchen forks.

PS. Perhaps need to handcuff terry 1st so that ferdinand survives for a while to prolong the amusement!

Hart
Richards - Terry - Lescott - Cole

That's a good defence.

i'd take ferdinand. might not always start him but he'd be a good influence in the dressing room. would certainly take him rather than jones
