To be honest looking from a Irish view. I was shocked with no Walker or Richards in the squad the 2 best English right backs playing at the moment. To have Jones and Johnson just seems a bit weird.

As for Ferdinand fuck him hes past his sell by date in my view as for playing for England there is better players out there than him. Lack of class will mean he wont get a look in and may as well retire from the England squad.

Midfield seems ok glad he took Chamberlain with him. Really think he can be the player that will be the 1 shining light.

Forwards not good enough. Rooney yes no problem then the other 3 Defoe , Welbeck and Carroll he is taking a huge risk. Defoe and Carroll are lucky to get in I think Crouch is so unlucky to miss out. The only reason Defoes going is Bent is injured. Any way I think you might do well I wouldnt be shocked if you got to the semi finals if you get a lucky draw.

A.Johnson is better but obviously Hodgson cannot see this. I wouldn't expect Downing to start anyway.

Don't see how it's possible to even make a case for downing ahead of johnson. It's even more astonishing when you consider that downing is unlikely to start. Johnson offers something different when the game is stretched or need a goal with 20 mins ago. This has been his strength for us this season. I also think some of the criticism on here has been harsh.

What sort of message does it send out that a supposed winger with NO assists and NO goals in 36 games in the squad? Mind boggling.

If you ask any Rag who has watched them this season they would say Jones has been disappointing particularly in the second half of the season. He has made a lot of defensive mistakes (the game against Blackburn springs to mind). They seem to have been overlooked because of all the "new Duncan Edwards" crap at the start of the season. Yet every time Micah had even a hint of a defensive lapse everyone's giving it all that " shaky defensively" rubbish. He is the only English full back with genuine pace!

As for the inclusion of Terry...don't get me started. I really really hope England are humiliated again. Having said that it probably will make no difference to hodgson as expectations are low anyway. Maybe he has picked this squad to lower them even more...
