Auxerre fans protesting against relegation have now held up their game twice for lengthy periods.

The opponents Montpellier need at least a draw (PSG already have won) to win the title tonight. Auxerre fans may have good reason to be upset (obviously they must be upset with the club management) but selfishness is ruining Montpellier's night.

Won't do Auxerre any good either with deductions and ground closure inevitable now for start of next season.

Game hopefully finished by midnight. Riot squad trying to handle situation now.

What would the French be without protests?

Utaka the attacker. That stand with the Auxerre fans had to be evacuated.

Forgot to watch that match; 2 mins to go and Montpellier have just gone 2-1 up through John Utaka.

ETA Livescore has it wrong. Still 14 mins to play.

Well Montpellier now ahead and first ever title probably certain for them now (unless Auxerre do a City) had a few minutes without game being delayed now.

Rained objects down on the Montpellier keeper.

Anyone remember Montpellier in the 90's when they knocked 'nited out of europe? Think Carlos Valderrama was playing for them at the time.

Well just after HT Auxerre fans threw tennis balls and toilet paper all over the place (particular at the goals) and it was delayed for several minutes. Around 20 mins to go they threw a flare on the pitch almost hitting one of the Montpellier players. Riot squad seem to have calmed things. 5 mins left plus a ton of stoppage time (and barring any more fan protests)

Obviously Montpellier won't get a trophy presentation tonight.

EDIT-Ref called it off "early" virtually no stoppage time. Montpellier winners on the night AND the champions of France for the first time. If its as easy to "buy" the title as City detractors suggest just look at how Montpellier (virtually no spending) have beat PSG to the title (and its no secret PSG are hardly lax in spending)
