Don't worry lads, we're shit now yes, but in 10 years everyone will be a product of our world famous academy, selected for their unrivalled talent and skill, not just their size and strength. They'll be taught proper football from the beginning, peak of physical fitness and well drilled, their game almost telepathic in nature, and they'll all be stolen from Spain :)

For those who dont give a fuck about England and want us to lose, why are you bothering watching ? are you supporting another country? find that quite sad to be honest

every other fans of other countries seem to support there nation no matter what, they dont seem to give a fuck if a right back is selected over another right back, whos in the squad and what formation etc... we live in a Talksport nation where we have to anaylise every single detail to the point that even if we win we just focus on the negatives

so shit watching the game and just hearing, '' your shit Johnson '', your shit carroll etc etc, its only because of the media our fans have turned like this, years ago you just support your nation no matter what the manager or team is.

that was a great match yesterday and every player played there hearts out for there country , same for Sweden, proud of the team and hope we can get further

My biggest problem is nothing to do with the players or the manager. It's just the complete and utter lack of enthusiasm that I feel for us as a nation.

I am just about the least patriotic person you will meet. Where I was born was just a matter of fortune/chance, and yeah I'm happy to be here, but I don't understand why that should have any bearing on who I choose to support.

If I could have chosen a country at birth it would not have been this one. If I could have chosen a national football team it would not have been England. So for that reason I just can't get excited about something I had no control over.

City was a choice I made, and my choices are what make me who I am.

I don't wish to disrespect those who want to follow England, and I won't say anything negative about those people, that's their choice. Mine is that I simply don't care and I doubt I ever will.

You sum up a lot of my feelings on the matter. I too am indifferent to the England team, and not bothered about Richards being picked or Johnson and Kelly preferred. To me it just means he gets an extended summer break, meaning he'll be fitter for the new season.

I like this video, because it sums up how I feel to a tee.

what's the point of believing or following something that isn't done on merit?

I'm a City fan, not an England fan, England can get my support by doing things the right way.

yh, but City don't pretend to represent the people like England do, so as it's national it should be purely based on merit, completely different and you know it.

Don't mind Hodgson and wish him well, but the only time I want to see one of our lads pass the ball to a rag is when they have just conceded a free kick for going in studs-first on one of the *****. I console myself with the hope that Shreck and co might get an injury.
