I was watching the last 5mins.

First leg ended 0 0 in Vicenza and the game was 2 2 in the 85th min but Vicenza kept attacking as they still needed a goal? to go to serie A.

What is going on? Why is that? Vicenza have scored 2 goals away to Empolis 0 and they still needed a goal? Can some1 explain?

btw the game ended 3 2 as Vicenza missed a penalty and Maccaroni scored a breakaway goal in the 94th min.

The away goals advantage does't count in domestic competition, I think.

You assume there´s an away goal rule in Italy?

In the play-offs in Italy they don't do away goals the advantage goes to the higher placed team which in this case was Empoli as they are in the Serie A.

The answer is obvious, the away goals rule doesn't count in the Playoffs

First this game didn't count for promotion to Serie A.
It was about staying in Serie B and avoiding relegation to Serie C.

In these playoffs away-goals don't count. When there is a draw it's the higher ranked team during the regular season that wins the battle.

Vicenza needed to win as they ended the season 1 pt lower than Empoli.
