Work with two Liverpool fans. One a born and bread scouser the other a Manc.
The Manc is also a massive England fan.
Yesterday he said that he'd rather England won the Euro's than Liverpool qualify for the Champions League. Very strange.
Me I'd rather City win a corner than England win the Euro's.
He's not strange for wanting the country he lives in to have a successful national football team. Thats just how he feels. That's how most of the rest of the world feels too, apart from in Spain where a lot of the countey don't support their country (but that is down to politics and wars; we've never had a war with United where people have been killed, many people!).
You're not strange for wanting City to do well before anything else. That's just how you both feel. The only thing that's strange is that you think it's strange.
I've got two mates who are England fans first. One is a City fan too, the other thinks club football is full of fans who are bitter *****. They're not strange.
I'm club before country. City come before most things in my life, even my ex's birthday meal. I reckon one of the main reasons she is my ex is because I put City first. England are important to me too.
