Big Sam pulls another out of the bag! And I once told everyone I knew that we should've signed Carroll instead of Dzeko. Personally believe he's selling himself a little short with a newly promoted Premiership Club but if he's going to be the player they build their system around then it might be the confidence boost he needs.

That's WHU staying up... I can see that kind of player smashing some defenses next season under Sams traditional way of playing football.

Good point. Expect to see a lot of ''hoofball'' from the 'ammers next season.

Wow. Great signing for them. He will suit their style and he is a good player. Big Sam is a brilliant manager and will not go down.

West Ham would've stayed up regardless. I think they're the best equipped out of the newly promoted sides and Big Sam has the best pedigree as a Manager in the Premiership. I can see them playing some reasonable stuff at home but using a 4-5-1 away to try and grab points however possible with Carroll as the man to snatch equalisers on the break or from set pieces. He can play on the deck, too. He's got a great shot on him as well as an ability to win balls in the air.

Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing? Nobody gets every signing spot on. I personally believed Carroll progressed at a frightening rate adapating to both first team football in the Championship and Premiership quickly - but his move to Liverpool was far, far too early and for far too much money.

That is one of the reasons why Liverpool want rid. He can't play on the deck. Carroll is just an old fashioned target man at best.

Oh yes. The tragedy begins again of Sam Allardyce and his own particular brand of terrible to watch, hoof it up to the big lad, as long as we finish 17th football. Post match interviews bemoaning the ref for the other team being allowed to play attractive, passing football when they lose, deserving the win for hoofing it up front and awaiting the knockdown when they win. It's a tragedy that this man is back in the prem. a fucking tragedy....

Great signing for them plus the rags always struggle against well organised teams with a big man up front. Might mean West Ham take afew points of them.
