Not at all. Gives the squad players a chance of a run out. Plus, I want to win it. Then we'd have won a complete domestic set under the bescarfed one.
Personally I've got a lot of time for the league cup. Plenty of younger players get blooded in the competition, it gives lower league sides a chance of a cup run and some extra cash and for the vast majority of topflight clubs, who aren't involved in Europe each season, it offers a more realistic chance of a trophy than the league title or FA cup.
Even as a Utd fan I despise the comments you hear deriding it as a mickey mouse cup etc. I defy anyone who's attended a league cup final to say it feels any less of a cup than, say, the FQ Cup. Been unfortunate enough to see us lose finals against Liverpool, Sheff Weds and Villa and it felt just as shit as when I've watched us lose any other cup final.
