To clear up why I asked the question; when I saw "she's convinced that she lost the babies and they are in St Mary's", I thought she'd discharged herself and left them there.

It's not the first time I've heard of someone doing this. There are some very disturbed folk out there. I just hope she gets the help she needs and your Son can move on with his life.

Some of the comments in this thread are pathetic how can you attack someone for being lied to about such a horrible thing? Its more common than you would think some women go as far as stealing other womens babies to carry on the deception.#
