After watching the 'Reunion', grabbed my old trilogy box set and sat down, forgot how enjoyable to watch they were. Not great films, but just a laugh. The spin offs were awful though.

Anyway, got thinking, is the inbetweeners just our English version of American Pie? If so, amuses me that we can enjoy both, yet an American probably would not get the inbetweeners humour, or is that me just being ignorant?

Net savvy americans love our stuff, i see what you mean but the internet is breaking down these insular walls they have.

For example they love fawlty towers and blackadder, many like the english versions of shows much more than their own.

I have requests of american mates all day long asking for frankie boyle dvds etc.

Problem with american comedy is it can be very immature. The drama's are the worst. Having everything explained 20 times so that the audience understands. It is just frustrating.

Ive noticed that they referred to now as spin offs because they were so shit. A couple of absolutely classic moments and one liners throughout the four films. I could watch them thousands of times and still be amused

They are realizing that i think now, look at Game of Thrones and the success it is enjoying.
Ok it is English really but americans have made it and they can't get enough of the complexity of it. Most of their drama's now have a sprinking of top notch brits for added grit (Hugh Lawrie - House) and i think it will only carry on in this manor as it makes them more cash.
