The whole Border debate is pathetic, I mean someone fresh off the boat 3mths back from Zimbabwe now living in Longsight is more Mancunian than Someone who was born and raised in Manchester but now lives in Zimbabwe?
I've lived in Manchester, I Work in Manchester, I'm regularly visiting the centre (excluding when watching footy) it takes me 20mins to get to work on the Tram, yet I'm not Mancunian because I live in Bury....
Tbh I don't even class myself as Mancunian so it doesn't bother me, nor do I class myself as Lancastrian.
The funny thing is the Lancashire Rose was prominent on our old club badge.
It is a bit daft..
I rememember being in australia when i was about 20,and the first time this hit home was when i was in brisbane and met a couple of lads from manchester.....Asked me where i was from said ashton in manchester, next line out of their mouth was ashtons not in manchester....they wouldnt let it go..
I guess they were right though!
