Just wondering how many hours people get working part time, wanting to see how mine varies from yours. Currently a student and I've been told I'll now be on 8 (eight?!?!) hours (one shift a week) for the foreseeable future while others sit on 14+.

8 hrs? Mate, that hardly qualifies as gainful employment.

At least 12-15, at the least. And no more than 30. That's how we treat our part timers, anyway.

when i speak to clients on the phone, we have to ask sometimes if they work full time, part time, unemployed etc.

we grade anything under 35 hours as part time. which is a little harsh to label somebody who does 30-34 hours a "part timer".

yes mother.

i've taken the dog out, done the dishwasher, emptied the bin, tidied my bedroom and been to the shop to buy milk, toothpaste and bran flakes for my stepdad.

*i'm not kidding that's what i've actually done*

I do a job share... one week on one week off, best move I ever made!

Work a 40 hr week every other week, still get paid weekly (20 hours a week) and always plenty of overtime available on my 'off week' if I want the extra money.

I think/'know' why they've done it however I don't paticularly want to be shouting my head off on the internet and badmouthing the work as I do like it and want to leave on a good note however I'll say that we have a new person doing the shifts who has his favourites and who I've also told that I'm leaving in September for university and unfortunately I won't be transferring as the only option is to travel 30 minutes either way to Southport or Liverpool as they don't have a branch where my university is. I'll leave it at that as I like I said, I don't want to be shouting off about all the shit that goes on.

I'm a student and work 12 hours a week part-time. 3 x 4 hour shifts working evenings. They're random shifts each week but they always fall on nights where either City are (were) playing or i'm wanting to go out/have something planned. Annoys the fuck out of me.
