I'm 20 in october so by the time I have passed my test and saved for a car I will be 20. But last night checking prices for cars such as a 1.2, 206 and they throw outragous numbers around like 15,000?

Now lads I know who are 17 and just passed pay nowhere near 4k a year? How the fuck do you swindle it?

Youre going to have to bite the bullett for the first couple of years. Granted not at 15k. You will not get a real quote until you actually pass your test. Look at one of those insurance complanies where they fit a tracker on it where they monitor what you do (Not passed to the police) but also you cant drive between 2300 and 0400 ish

Get some older, experienced named drivers on your policy. Will bring it down abit. (Mummy, Daddy, Uncle Touch-up etc).

Ah; the joys of being an old twat. 2009 Peugeot 308 1.6 diesel, 8 years NCD, €350-ish fully comp. not sure there's a lot the OP can do apart from what's already been suggested. As for "swindling" the insurance company; stupid idea, forget it. You get found out and your policy will be worthless and your name/details may well get passed on to other companies with the result being a very difficult job obtaining insurance in the future.

I didn't mean swindling it as being dodgy I just meant there must be a way around it cause nobody pays that amout pal.

Like someone said, get your Mum and/or Dad as an additional driver on the policy. That is if their records are squeeky clean.

Also, lower the estimated mileage.

Put both parents on there as that will bring it down a hell of a lot. Insurane companies charge less because they see it as though you'll be using the car less.

Because you're under 25 fully comp may be cheaper as most people in that age bracket try and get it cheaper by choosing third party, so the sneaky buggers charge more to make more money.

Most companies also charge less if you say the car will be kept on a street. If you say it's going to be kept in a garage they charge more because it may be damaged by things falling on it, and if it's on a driveway if your house gets broken into they know which car is yours.

And if you haven't bought a car yet DON'T GET ONE THAT'S BEEN MODDED IN ANY WAY! That ramps up the premium!

And there was me crying like a little bitch because my renewal quote is £350. The only real way around it Stillsy is ask someone in the motor trade to say you work for them part time valeting cars or something and put you on their traders policy. The car wouldn't be in your name and you obviously wouldn't be earning any no claims bonus but you'd be mobile.
