Taken 1 was absolute shiiiiiite how it got a sequel I'll never know. Just a poor version of payback-now that's a quality movie.

After beating the shit out of 10,000 people, blowing up buildings, jumping off bridges on to cars, he finally manages to rescue his daughter from a whore house - not giving a shit about the other girls all tied up - manages to sort out a nice flight from France to America all so hes daughter can meet the one and only ...wait for it .. holly fucking valance !

it was a sleeper hit. cost fuck all and made loads of money, completely unexpectedly.

Agree completely with the bad script etc and must admit I've seen it at least twice, the analogy of it being like commando is bang on, I never looked at it that way, I fucking love the cheesey shite from the 80's like commando, cobra etc etc

Neeson is no Schwarzenegger/Stallone et al which I think made those more watchable.
