Anyone for a deep fried cricket or a meal worm?? Watched a program before about an old expat brit living in Thailand, and he was doing the lot, including them big water cockroach things. He got a load of small crickets, wrapped them in a chilli leaf or something, and then started tucking in. Mmm nice.

Anyone else been temped by these high protein snacks?

If I was starving on a desert island I would eat them no problem. Other than that I don't see the point, why eat crickets when you can have a mixed kebab on nan with a lamb vindaloo poured on top or a nice traditional roast dinner.

Yes definitely. I love a bit of crab, prawn, shrimp etc. they are the insects of the sea, why not eat the insects of the land? I bet some taste lovely.

As the population grows and grows we will not be able to sustain everyone with nice cuts of beef and chicken drumsticks in Tescos. Therefore I can see insects becoming a part of our diets in this country within twenty years.

A lot of insects in the foods we eat. Deliberate and not

Some used as colouring for food and added flavour.

I'm a big girl when it comes to creepy crawlies so wouldn't go out of my way to eat it. If it was all fried up and stuff then I wouldn't mind

I used to travel to China with work a couple of years back and when they took me out for meals I'd usually end up trying some of this stuff.

Silkworm Pupae and Sea Cucumbers are two I remember well, needed a few shots of the moutai first though.
