The simplest of passes seem hard work for him.....

Technically very poor.

Looked like he was playing in treacle yesterday. Soooo slow. Won't judge him on that performance alone. He's a good player. Not brilliant though.

In recent home games he worked his ass off, and was motivating the crowd to cheer the team on... he was trying to rev up a number of seemingly unmotivated players too.

The most skillful player ever? no. The sort of gritty determination out team needs? YES

Great teams are about a mix of grit and determination coupled with silky flair. We've had a bit too much silky flair of later, and when we've needed to knuckle down and grind out results we've been found wanting.

He's in my squad, and he's getting a good share of games too (if I was manager).
De Jong's in there too.

I just feel we've over tipped the balance between grit and flair, and forgotten how to scrap (fairly, rather than Balo's moronic ways)

And while I'm at it... Johnson was supposed to have a bit of flair, but what does he do with it? passes it back inside to Richards (who keeps forgetting he's a right back and NOT a forward). There's no much grit in Johnson.

In the grand scheme of players that aren't cutting the mustards at City, Milner's in a pretty 'safe' category. There's a fair list of dodgy players ahead of him

Puts in a shift but lacks skill & vision to break down a defence in the final third. Got a feeling he may be one of the summer departures, he wants more playing time that he would get elsewhere.

I'm not his biggest fan but he was a regular starter up until QPR away. Then he just seemed to disappear along with our form from that match onwards. Significant or a coincidence?

A quality player needs to find his form and develope his partnership with Silva

If he's willing to accept the bench, I have no problem with keeping him. Loyal, hard working, team mentality... exactly what you want in a player. His shortcomings are not enough creativity and vision in the final 3rd as someone said... Although he has great value on the bench, as he can fill in at multiple positions.

Looked dead on his feet yesterday. The tiredness lead to some sloppy passing

His second touch is usuall a tackle.

Not surprised Mancini plays him wide he is a liability in the centre.

As someone stated before typical English player runs all day 100% commitment zero technical ability

We have a plethora of 'technical' wonder players - and they're having no luck breaking down defences when there's 10 behind the ball!

Grafters and flair players... grafters and flair players.... we need both. If the flair players did THEIR jobs, we'd all be applauding the grafters doing theirs.

There are always going to be games in a season (Everton, Stoke etc) when we need a bit more grit than usual. He's the right sort of player for that job.
