I despise United and everything about them including most of their scandalous players, but have never been able to dislike Scholes. He has a genuine quality that is so rare in English players, the way he plays is very un-English and even now he has a touch of class about him. He also isn't a twat off the pitch unlike their indecent players such as Rooney, Giggs, and Ferdinand. Aren't they unbeaten in every game he's started since returning?

All that said there's no way he can be considered player of the year as he's only played a bit part in the grand scheme of things.

A player like Scholes is needed in nearly every top team IMO. Pizarro is currently our version but hasn't played enough.

scholes didn't start playing again until january so it would be ridiculous to vote him player of the season. it would be like voting ryan giggs as bbc sports personality of the year after he'd only played 17 premier league games in 12 months. oh, hang on...

i hate the fact somehow without the authorisation of our club he(noel) has become a spokesperson for the club through the media.(bbc & sky s choice not the clubs)

a. give the interviewing job to a jobless blue instead.
b. noel is a clown of the highest order
c. he should stick to music and stay outn of city business.... he is a musician and does not deserve any more attention than any other regular football fan. i don t want him representing our club!!!

United's season changed for the better when Valencia returned. He is a limited player, a 'straight up and downer' in the old terminology, but in United's system he is very, very effective. And he has an almost telepathic relationship with Rooney.
As we have leaned to our cost this season, it is not necessarily about having the best players, but the right players.
As for Scholes, though, do me a favour. His effect on them has been more psychological than anything. And he should have already had at least one red card, but his stamp into the ribs of a Bolton player was predictably laughed off by Hansen etc with the outrageous cliche that "ho ho, he can't tackle". Imagine if that was Mario?

weirdly, the player i fear most behind rooney when we play the rags is valencia. But in terms of the topic title, i know i'll get grief here because hes a prick, but camel gob has had a great season, i can guarentee he wont play like that in the euros though

Agree with all of this mate. A very effective player in exploiting the space provided when Rooney drops deep.
