Probably not. He is more of a CM?AM/WM and not a DM[/quote]

Thats what i was getting at,do we really need a DJ type player? Someone like this lad would be far more useful to the way we play.

You are a bit mistaken. Ander does not and cannot operate from deep. He is very much a Silva/Nasri type mould. Even if we do not play de Jong, well need a midfielder who can distribute (Martinez).

Where would that leave Yaya and Nasri?

Anyone care to post up a possible formation?

Would of thought whichever midfielder we sign would be a straight swap for barry who will become more of a squad player and then yaya in place of nasri playing further forward.

De Jong New player

Yaya

Silva Tevez Aguero

Nasri coming in for de jong for easier games playing a front 4.

We'll always need at least one combative midfielder, even if it's one with a more rounded game than De Jong. You always need someone who can tackle well, even Barcelona have a great tackler (Busquets). Napoli's season is close to disaster (looking unlikely they will get Champions League), maybe we can get Inler if De Jong's contract isn't worked out. Martinez would be the ideal but very expensive.

433
..................Hart....................
Micah..Komps..Lesc..Clichy
....Nasri...Yaya....Herrerra.....
......Silva...Aguero..Tevez....

451
...........Yaya...Barry.......
....Silva....Hererra....Nasri
.............Aguero...............

Either can work. He is a CM and can fit into any of the 3 positions in the 433 or any of the 5 in a 451. He is quite versatile.

Totally agree, whoever we buy this summer will be a NDJ improvement IMO.
Will be a big year for Samir next year

Only moved last summer and is Athletic born and bred. All his family Athletic fans etc etc. Can't see it, complete speculation that he wants CL football anyway.
