Hi folks. Newcastle fan here. I've been browsing through your forum to seek your views on your game with us. Firstly, it's very refreshing to see that you are taking us seriously. Honestly, plenty of mags have written this game off, but I've been eager to show people that some Man City fans are just as worried about us as we are about you guys. Based on current form, it could be a very even match-up, especially with us having the home advantage. Very excited and also crapping my pants at the same time.

I'm not so sure if that's right. We're 4th place for a reason, and whilst you are a better side, in our current form I don't think "miles better" is very fair.

Krul and Hart are two of the best keepers in the league.

Our best defender Coloccini has been named in the team of the season alongside your own Kompany.

Tiote is one of the best DM's in the league and Cabaye has really really done remarkably well. Bet Wenger is banging his head against a wall that he didn't sign him for the price we got him at.

Then there's the front three of Ben Arfa, Cisse and Ba. Ba's bagged 16 goals, Cisse has 11 in 10 and Ben Arfa is just a little maestro who is racking up the goals and assists since he became a starter again a few months ago.

My point is, if you remove the big star names, remove the massive fees and look at both XI's on the current form they're in,
e have players capable of being almost as threatening as you guys on our day. 13 goals in our last 6 games and only conceding a single goal with 5 clean sheets I'm sure is a run of form which many of you wouldn't turn your noses up at.

Of course you have a better first, but "milwes better" to the point where you expect to "destroy" us may be a tad naive.

Man for man mate we are miles better than you.Look at your other centre back and fullbacks and we are much better.Your strikers have been excellent but they are not in the same class as Tevez and Aguero.Im not being arrogant it is the truth. That is not to say I don't expect a very hard game though or think you could beat us because of course you could. You have players in form and are playing brilliantly as a team.Ben Arfa is great to watch and you have two very good strikers.

I hope you lot make the Champions league and against us is the only game you lose in the run in.

Agreed that I want the Toon to get the fourth place, but 5 other games between now and then will have an afect on the toon,
Wigan Toon (wigan fighting for survival, Toon fighting for Cl)
Chelsea QPR
Spuds Blackburn both likewise
Chelsea Toon
Bolton Spuds

So by the the time we go to St James (no I am not going to call it that other name), Toon could be almost there, or nearly out of the running.
They will also have played on the Wednesday evening while we will have from Monday evening to prepare.
Still, lets win our next game first.

There seems to be a huge amount of fans going up without tickets, my question is will they have pubs for us to go and watch the match, it won't be like Blackburn sat on a hill, otherwise there will be thousands of blues on the streets of Newcastle.

Thought they might show it at City Square? Enjoyed the derby there.

Plenty of pubs round St James that will welcome the money (& the police wont want hundreds of fans wandering round the streets)

Anyone know what time KO is? Sunday tv games are usually 1.30 and 4. City website says 1.30 but my ticket came today and that says 2pm??

Worried more about that game than derby but...

Newcastle had some great set of results recently but their football did not follow those results in some games.

They've been battered by Swansea, had only 20%+ possession but scored from 2 chances.

Same with Bolton at home, Bolton could easily go 2-3 up in first 60 minutes and Newcastle made close to nothing in that time. Then Ben Arfa pulled that great run and scored, and Cisse added an offside goal soon and they killed the game.

They have some great options up front, Cabaye, Ba, Cisse, Ben Arfa are playing very good and that's what should be stopped, specially Cabaye's balls to Cisse, they were very dangerous in that part.

If we manage to stop those 4, we can win that game, I've seen much weaker teams making nice amount of chances against Newcastle.

What I'm afraid is Mancini's defensive mind and slow start of the game. Can't see us winning if that happens and most probably it will.

Got a far superior squad, I concur, but I don't think your XI is "miles better" than us at all. I'd say your XI is miles better than teams like Villa, or Sunderland, but we're only 18 points behind and two places.

I just like to strip away the star names, and fees, and wages, and look at the raw ability of players. Atm, I think our forward three can produce just as much magic as your front three, with Ben Arfa capable of pulling off world class moves and Cisse capable of scoring at a rate on par with the likes of RVP. Pulling off 5 clean sheets in 6 games is also a defensive record I'm sure Man City would be proud of too, no?

Not sure how long we'll keep this kind of form up, but if you strip away the star names and look at the raw performances I think we could perhaps give you more of a game than you think. There are very fine lines in football imo, which allow for anyone to beat anyone on the day.

Newcastle is a massive city which almost has more pubs and clubs than shops. You're virtually guaranteed to be within walking distance of at least one pub where you can get in for the match, even thousands of fans.

The stadium is slap-bang in the middle of the city too, so it's very easy. The Gate has plenty of pubs and it's a minute walk.

Those stats are very deceiving. It was actually all a part of our game plan. We knew that trying to chase Swansea around for the ball would be pointless, but we also knew that Swansea, for all their possession, aren't particularly good in the final 3rd, so what we did is basically let them have their possession and then cut them off when they got near the goal.

It means that we didn't fatigue ourselves or get frustrated with Swansea's possession play, and just let them do their hundreds of passes in various triangles with little result. It worked like a charm.

It's true. Every team has off days though, the important bit is whether the results can be ground out. Luckily, whilst we always seem to underestimate lower teams (which is why I'm bricking it about Wigan) we always seem to play very well when we're considered the underdogs, so we should come at you 100% and give you a good fight.

Every single time we've won lately we've always scored first. Whenever the opposition scores first, we tend to struggle a bit to get back into it, so if you guys want the best shot at it, it would be best to get that early goal.
