Interesting view that. William Hill today had virtually same odds for a draw as a utd win. Surprised me, cos I would have thought a draw by far least likely result; we need to go for the win big style don't we? - so we'll either get the win, or get exposed going for it in which case they'll get some goals.

Has anyone got any dead certs for the derby match?

I restrict my gambling budget to £50 per season due to being a former addict. And I now have £20 left to use up, £10 of which would of been spent on Torres getting the last goal against Barca. I had a gut feeling it was a dead cert. However, as I was about to bet in play at 12/1 and press the submit button that fucking angel on my shoulder told me to "refrain for the derby game is nigh, bet on that game instead".

Well I listened to that fucker, am no richer and I don't have a dead cert. All I know is I have the same gut feeling as back in 2004 when I knew we would win the derby. Back then though I had a dead cert, and put £1 (I was a student) on City beating United 4-1 and Wright-Phillips getting the last goal at 100/1 as a last goal scorecast.

Please help, as I am now going to be miserable till Monday.

I'm a failed gambler (apart from the odd beauty's that keep me trying) so one thing I aint is in the know. Thus it's just my opinion. I can't see Scholes starting though because of his inability to tackle. Ferguson won't want to risk him playing the majority of the match on a booking or getting a red card. So because he can't trust him, he'll bring him on as a sub, even if United are winning. That way Scholes can come on to try and finish of the game with another goal, or try and get them back in it.

I agree totally with everything else you've said. He is defo going to pack five into that midfield because of what happened against Everton and because City focus on going down the middle. Just don't think that pack will include Scholes in the starting line up.

This is just my opinion though, which is why I try and always go with my gut feeling and no longer the £ signs.

Last years home derby was very cagey, one of those games where neither team really wants to win. We do have to win but if we get beat on monday it is absolutely over unless United get beat twice which is unlikely with the psychological advantage.

Betting wise i'm saying a draw because United have the upper hand as in a draw puts them in the driving seat for the last 2 games. A very unlikely bet is the scoreless draw but i think a 1-1 or similar is a good one.

It's going to be a very tactical and nervy game if you ask me with a goal at most seperating it.
