Can someone tell me a simple definition of what constitutes a Mancunian?

Someone born within the city of Manchester limits ....

doesn't matter how far you travel in the world , how long you're away , or what nationality you adopt , if you were born in Manchester you'll always be a Mancunian .... that's where your home town is , and that's where your roots truly lie!

I was born in Bradford , Manchester ...... only yards from the Etihad Stadium ...... i'll always be a Manc , even though , at times , i've lived in both Cheshire and Bury.

After the tears and emotion of the last few days I think we can all be honorary mancunians and lancastrians.

Thats how I feel at the moment.

Not saying this map is wrong, but it's daft isn't it? The City 'Centre' is on the edge! So someone who lives right next to the city centre isn't a mancunian, despite living closer than a 'mancunian' who lives all the way in southern Wythy!

If you lived west of the city centre you'd be a Salfordian.

Yeah,I was born at Hope, so strictly, I'm a Salfordian. But it's just odd isn't it, how the 'centre' is nowhere near the centre of the area. In fact, it's closer to salford city centre than parts of Manchester!

I'm from Salford, but I was born in St Mary's. When my Dad is really pissed off with me he calls me a "Fucking Manc".
