Sorry if this has already been asked or answered, but what exactly did the rags have planned immediately after their game finished. Also, how did the Sunder land fans get their information. Thousands of them cheered simultaneously. Someone at work has been asking about this.

If you watch the videos on youtube you can hear comments that "City have scored" and you tell it's going round the ground. Then shortly after the scores go up on the scoreboard above the away end and you hear the massive roar. On the Sky and MoTD footage you see the rags look up to their left. Isn't that roughly where the TV studio is in one of the boxes ? Maybe they can see the reaction in the studio.

From assorted YouTube vids - word is going round that City have won but no one knows for sure and some don't believe it ... the final scores start coming up on the scoreboard above the away end, City's score is the third score to come up I think, lots of anticipation, when the score comes up Sunderland fans go mad. The united fans can't see the scoreboard though, so they just hear and see the Sunderland fans going crazy - obviously the biggest noise is coming from the hardcore next to them, so they look to their left.

Cue the Poznan and lots of "you've won f**k all" chants etc.

Brilliant.

Poetic justice seeing the look on bacon faces face when he tries to hush his failures off the field. I think its the first time I ever saw his mouth stop moving you can clearly see he is hurting.

My brother works for the team who prepare all the trophy, medals, podium stuff before and during the match(they do the London marathon stage and all that kinda stuff). He was there from 11 on Sunday getting everything ready. A parallel team were at Sunderland doing the same. We had the real cup at city, they had the replica. At 90 mins my brother's team were told to put the covers over ours and prepare to move it all out of the way. After Sergios goal they were told they had 4 mins to get it all out again and onto the pitch! Apparently they broke the record for getting the podium on the pitch and assembled in the quickest time.
But to answer the question, yes, a similar event would have happened at Sunderland

Boxes above Sunderland fans in that corner had our game live on TV, which is why the Mackems knew what was happening, they could see through the windows.
