Not necessarily buying into all that shit about him leaving, but when we lose him to injury or internationals we look a completely different side. It wouldn't hurt to have an identical player to rotate or even pair up to really destroy teams. Players like Martinez, Fellaini have been suggested as possible options but the problem is I can't think of one player going right now that matches up to Yaya's combination of size, strength, speed and technical ability. We're one injury away from a crisis here blues, what do you think?

I think there is one player that matches Yaya's skill set. Javi Martinez. Both these players are two of the most finely balanced players in the world imo. Have fantastic defensive attributes as well as technical attributes. When they don't play you know about it.

Apart from Martinez there is no one else i don't think. You simply have to replace with someone like M'Villa, Sissoko who have a dashing of Yaya's attacking skills but focused more on the defensive side.

i think moussa sissokho would be ideal if yaya was to leave.

i don't know why, but i'm really intrigued by the idea of seeing either dani alves or thiago silva as a defensive midfielder...if it works on fifa, it has to work in real life.
