MAN Utd boss Sir Alex Ferguson was rushed to hospital last night.

He was at a soccer bash when he suffered a heavy nose bleed that would not stop.

Fergie — treated for a heart problem in 2003 — was taken by ambulance to hospital in Glasgow.

The scare came as he was about to speak at the city’s Thistle Hotel at a dinner to celebrate 40 years since Rangers won the European Cup Winners’ Cup.

About 1,000 guests were told at the last minute that he had pulled out for “personal reasons”.

Fergie, who played for ths Glasgow club in the 1960s, had been spotted outside with a bleeding nose while with fellow ex-Rangers player Sandy Jardine and former manager Alex McLeish.

A witness said: “I saw him in the car park. His nose was bleeding and he looked uncomfortable.”

Fergie thought it best to go to hospital as a “precaution”.

Medics later ruled it was not serious and discharged him from hospital. He was back at home in Cheshire early today recovering United confirmed last night: “There was a minor problem but he is at home resting and is fine.”

Sir Alex was on the touchline on Sunday as United 1-0 won at Sunderland, but lost the Premier League title to Man City.

On Monday, he attended his club’s Player Of The Year awards night at Old Trafford.

What's the problem? Don't they get 75,000 of them there every other week?

It's ok, they can buy them up now for next season.

I've already been told their squad is going to include Eden Hazard, Mats Hummels, Mario Gotze, Shinki Kagawa, Philip Lahm and Frank Ribery.

Apparently we're only getting Redmond from Birmingham, if we can beat off Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal. And we're losing Kun Aguero, Vinny, Silva and Yaya.

So I said, "I'm still not buying one of those, mate."

What a great headline from the MEN - Squeaky Bun Time. Brilliant, worthy of the Sun.

500?? Surely that's a misprint?

The Red Cafe is described on the club’s website as ‘more than a place to get a bite to eat’. The site adds: “There’s the fantastic range of meals, from succulent snacks to leisurely lunches. Food, football, there’s plenty to feast your eyes on... but be sure to keep glancing at the door. You never know who might walk in.”
