Scoobyblue, at the moment there are 27 teams qualified for the CL with higher coefficients than Dortmund once next seasons points are adjustedIE 20% for the member association and 4 for direct entry to the group stage. I will eat my bowler hat if all the potential group three teams make it to the group stage meaning if only four fail (which is almost guaranteed) Dortmund will be in pot 3.

Sorry to rain on your parade as City's number one authority on all things Champions League but you really need to try harder.

All this year's European competitions are finished. Therefore nobody can get any more points that affect the 2012/2013 rankings. Any points that Dortmund pick up by going trough the qualifying stages will affect the 2013/2014 rankings.

Check out the link that Scooby Blue has provide, it does all the work for you and has already calculated all the rankings including the country part and has already worked out the likely pots.

Dortmund could get into Pot 3 next season but, as Scooby says, it will be because 4 of the teams above them in the rankings fail to get through the qualifiers and all the unseeded teams get through instead - not because of any change to their coefficient.

Fuck me, you just don't get it do you:

Each team gets 20% of their countries coefficient added on before the competition starts plus 4 points for going into the group stage. The current points only reflect the standings at the end of the CL season IE when Chelsea lifted the trophy.

I don't know how how I can explain it to you if you don't understand, the points are adjusted at the end of each qualifying, group, knock out matches and when all 32 group teams are known they will have a revised coefficient BEFORE the draw is done.

As I said it will be a fucking minor miracle if Dortmund end up in pot 4.
