All match going fans are similar ? Most fans iv'e met are not arrogant gobshites, like united fans.
Although I will conceed the point that you know all about your team.
How they were formed in Oldham, spent 7 years in Manc. Stole the colours and nickname from Salford RFC. Saved 3 times by millionaire backers.Had Manc taxpayers half build the cycle rack you call a ground. Win doubles and trebles and still don't get the fact that little citeh are still there and catching you up. Although last year slightly overtaking.
There's one treble you will never get though..........
Born in Manc
Bred in Manc
Still in Manc.

Quick question ? Why do United fans always seem to put a manc in their user names ?

Like it or not the majority of match going fans, of ANY team, are pretty similar.

I agree.

Spoken like a true puppet. Methinks thou doth 'presume' too much.

To be honest I don't even understand that statement......Think I'll leave it here tho cos it's all pretty pointless really.

Okay, i'll keep it simple....

You pooh-pooh any notion that Utd were in the wrong/were unethical/immoral/are a bunch of hypocritical fuckwits about anything connected to another club (especially Manchester City) if the notion happened to come from a City source unless there is undeniable, nationally accepted proof approved by Bobby Charlton himself.

Yet you blindly and stubbornly accept as truth anything coming from a United based/opinionated/biased source no matter how vague/biased/fabricated the source might be purely on the basis that it's 'Man Utd'.

In other words, 'indoctrinated opinion'.

And if THAT'S too complex try this....

"I fink City are like well bad and a bunch of liars innit. But Man Yoonited are like well good, and neva lie or nuffink. Iz true. Me Man Utd mate told me!"

Google maps, street view, Chester road. there's a pub on the left as you 'drive' into town. just by that there's a sign saying city of Manchester. you're over a mile from the swamp at that point. why would you have a sign up if you were already within a place?

Dead right, goat boy. Can't understand why the Rags haven't stuck up a few of their own 'Welcome to Manchester' roadsigns at every corner of the stadium, and at every corner of the pitch. Don't they like Trafford?

Ask the Rag which council he thinks provides them with their safety certificate!

Arrogant gobshite? Ok if you say so...but if Utd were formed in Oldham (Newton Heath 1878) how were City born in manc (West Gorton 1880)?

As for your other points, yes we "stole" our current nickname from Les diables rogues (Salford) tho not sure about the colours - Newton Heath were playing in red and white shirts as early as 1888.

I've never denied that Utd have benefited from wealthy benefactors in the past and readily acknowledge that Utd's success of the last 20 years would not have been possible without the huge cash injection from the club being floated in 1991. I've also never denied that City are catching/have caught us up in the last few years.

Finally I'm not gonna get bent out of shape that Utd play outside the boundaries of the city of Manchester - would be nice if that wasn't the case but never gave me sleepless nights.

Oh n the user name, just my initials and where I'm from.....first used it when registering on a non football forum years ago as the username I wanted had already been taken.

You're alright with me JM. Unfortunately not everyone in this world is as fair minded and magnanimous as me.

So because I'm sceptical on this particular issue I've been indoctrinated?

I'm just going along with the widely reported agreement between City and Utd for the rent of Maine Road for reasons I've already stated. I didn't even quote any Utd source (and if Bobby Charlton told me today was Thursday I'd check the calendar).

There are many examples of Utd being hypocritical and immoral towards other clubs, such as when they were one of the driving forces behind the carve up of tv revenue and the formation of the premier league, being part of the cartel of European clubs who practically guaranteed their eternal inclusion in the champions league at the expense of sides from smaller European nations, disrespecting the FA cup by swanning off on a worldwide marketing exercise instead of playing in the 3rd round of the cup (albeit with some encouragement by football's authorities etc.. So, yes, I accept Utd will put their own interests first when it suits them, but that doesn't mean they did/were allowed to in this case.
