He was a quality player in a terribly poor City side at the time, with no one on his wavelength or anywhere near his ability. He was also quite a lazy player who tended to walk about and wait until the ball was played to him before attempting something.

He had tremendous skill and dribbling ability but very little workrate. The fact he didn't pull up any trees at Ajax where he WAS surrounded by better players than with us should finish the argument really.

At his peak in THIS side i would see him as a coming off the bench player to change tight games.Bobby would never start with him because of his lack of workrate and tracking back, but what a player to have on the bench!

Course he would. Anyone who said no doesn't have a fucking clue

I have to agree.I think he went backwards after his first season and the fact he had Ball as Manger and resultant shite assembled around him(with a few exceptions)who wouldnt?

Having visited Georgia in 97 I think the impact of moving to the UK was something he struggled to cope with ie dealing with the money and social side as compared to his homeland.

A true great who would have shined in this team.

Really need him to make an appearance at the stadium. He is the man that made me fall in love with football and more importantly City as young lad.

Khaldoon you great man if you see this make the call and fly him in for Sunday!!!

Anyone agree or just me?

Have only seen videos of Kinkladze (and we all know how misleading they can be) so can't really comment. I reckon Ali B in his prime would have got in our team/squad though.

A gem among turds indeed. Brillant description. Playing in a crap team with a feeble manager, he could set his own agenda and didn't need to break sweat. His fantastic natural ability would compare favourably with any of the present crop. Kinky would definitely shine in today's side [/b]providing Mancini was on his case and he put in the effort. [/b]

Agreed he didn't do so well at Ajax but we judge him here on how he performed at City which was pretty fookin amazing. Whatever anyone thinks v Silva (love him) and Nasri (still to excel) one thing cannot be denied: he brightened up some dark days.

Not saying he was the best ever City player. In my time Colin Bell did it for me. But the most exciting? If I remember correctly he won that thread on Blue Moon and got my vote too.

I chatted to Phil Neal years ago about kinky. When he was caretaker manager at City he asked kinky to play on the left side of midfield and within the first minute of the game kinky just played where he wanted, ignored the game plan that they worked on all week in training. City were not a team when he played. His skill is unbeleavable but I don't think he'd get in the current team as Manchini will only have team players.

He was my favourite player when I was a growing up.
I would love to think he would be a star in this team but I think his work rate would cause him problems with Roberto.
