i was there in Turin the night before and then went to the semi final the next day,sat in the German end behind the goal where Lineker scored the equaliser, when lineker scores you can see the police jump up and go towards the fans behind the net with their dogs, that was towards me and 30 or so other England fans when we jumped on the perimeter fence to celebrate the goal.Stayed in a massive athletics/sports club in Turin the night before the game that the authorities had made available for England fans, loads of Italians came down to have a go at the English fans, remember it being bedlam. After the match Italians on scooters were milling about trying pick off English fans,i remember seeing one with a chain being dragged off his scooter and leathered.Got back to the main station in Turin and it was going off crazy with the Germans by this point, the police managed to get a few hundred off us onto a train straight into Paris (gare de Lyon) where we all went on a sight seeing trip around Paris, great trip, fond memories!

Have you read Pete Davis book All Played Out/One Night In Turin?
He was at the train station that night and he describes it saying it was carnage

Watching it now - decent so far!!

I loved Italia 90 and the era - Madchester etc.

I'll get the book from the library - forgotten all about it. I've read snippets of it as 442 magazine gave away a condensed version of it.

Just watched it on ITVplayer, had to laugh when they said that the Napoli fans put a sign in the cemetary "you dont know what youre missing" in reference to Napoli's success with Maradonna..

also amazed at the amount of Union Jacks, thought we'd dumped them by 1990.

To the OP cheers for the heads up. Brilliant 2 hours of football nostalgia. Recorded it last night and just watched it.

Brought back loads of memories of being a teenager plus the best soundtrack to any documentary ever.

Why did so many England fans have Union Jacks rather than St George Flags?

It was later at Euro 96 that the big move to the St Georges flag came about.

Does anyone know what prompted the change?
