Although it is unlikely Liverpool would do business with United, yes, if they signed Agger and De Rossi, they would have done very well.

De Rossi would be a great signing for any team at the top end of the Premier League.

I guess you are referring to Agger. Who would suggest as an alternative?

I think De Rossi and Agger resolve out biggest issues / concern so yes i think these two players would be fantastic signings and exactly what we need - buying younger players would do nothing more than block some of our younger players from getting through - Suarez and Razak being tw that spring to mind

If the rags bought these two players no it wuld not be amazing because they do not have a Yaya or a Silva or a Aguero or a Tevez and a few others - they have more holes to fill than ourselves

Just need RvP to go to Juve and i think most City fans would be good with that

There's a huge difference - our squad needs tweaking while we raise our youngsters, United's squad needs changing. You must have seen during pre-season that Biton, Milner and Razak are our potential long-term Barry replacements. Think of De Rossi as a Vieira-type signing.

Agger isn't injury prone. He has never had the same injury more than three times. He isn't out for three weeks every two months with the same knee injury or the same back problem. Our medical staff are the best in the Premier League and probably the best in the world.

Agger will spend more time on our bench than he will on the treatment table. Mark my words.

A lot of people lately have become completely obsessed with sell-on value. Like if you offered them Messi, the first response is hand-wringing about not being able to sell him at a high enough price when his contract is ending.

I've got no idea about Aggers history of injuries etc. but if we sign him, when he's fit he will start. 100%. You don't sign players of that ilk because you want them as cover and he would not sign to come and sit on our bench.

Not if we do move to a 3-5-2 as we've been playing. I am not advocating for or against that formation either.

Where have I said that he'd be on the bench all the time? He'll be rotated with Lescott and Clichy, I imagine.

My point was that Agger will spend next to no time on the treatment table, and not that he would spent a considerable amount of time on the bench.
