Melbourne City FC Thread

Didn't expect that. At half time I feared the worst. A very dubious pen for them and a possible offside right on halftime had all the ingredients of a 5 or 6 goal smashing. To the credit of lads they came out and really worked and for the first time since the cup final I was proud of them. Our pen was very soft and for all was a blatant even upperer but Kamaus goal was a cracker.

The youth players all showed enough to make a case for gametime in the future. And having a Keeper that is primarily a keeper just makes sense. 1 point in the context of having 9 senior players out is huge and maybe this is the jolt the boys need.

Onto a few quiet scotchs now a get ready for the chicks tomorrow night. A heartwarming performance.

Good performance, hope it pushes the team on now.

Brisbane brought a few,are internal flights cheap in Oz? Presume they didnt come on the coach!

Flights you can get from about $80 return if you book months ahead but an average would be closer to $250. By bus its a 30 hour ride for about $100.

Girls lead 1-0 at half-time. Nothing available streamwise over here in the uk :(

Edit 2 up now on 72 mins.

Had a quiet period of half a dozen poor results but when it mattered in the big games really stepped. To win a grand final away is a massive achievement. To win back to back is the first time done in the W League.

Most of the credit has to be attributed to Jess Fishlock. A truly world class player and to become a player manager is exceptional. The ladies has a genuine winning mentality and so far the best team within the City group.

You can watch the history making women's team here if you missed it and would like to watch it.

Got the Nix across the ditch this afternoon.
All the suspended players return. Major outs are Jakobsen and Franjic. Still a bit light in the CB area and the 16 year old Pierias might get another start at RB.

We are sitting in fourth only by goal difference and a loss would put finishing top four and a home final in jeopardy.

Playing in NZ is never easy and we have had some terrible smashings over the years but I'm hopeful we can get a win and begin a good run of form.

Up 0:2 at halftime.

They missed a pen. Bit dubious and we have looked dangerous but the standard of the game very poor.

It's a game that only we could lose from here.
