Stoke post match thread

Stoke got what they wanted and didn't really try for more.

We were frankly poor and turgid until the final ten minutes - why wait that long to get going?

And what is wrong with Kev his passing was awful.

3 games on the trot he's appeared to be colour blind as most of his passes went to the opposition

Looked 10 times better when moved out wide

. We could have put a bit of pressure on them, instead we have put more pressure on ourselves. We have pissed away a lot of points at home this season. Not good enough

That's fair enough, but that doesn't mean it's unimportant to them, as you claim.

Sounds like you're just being negative for the sake of it.

That was about as dull as it gets, unless you favour the sideways pass.

Got to say with the exception of the odd half of football we've been very underwhelming at home in the Premier League this season. Quite strange that such an esteemed coach as Pep has served up alot of ordinary football without seemingly having a plan b.

FA Cup or bust now I reckon.
100% correct, watching us at home in the league has not been too thrilling this season.

Forget the CL with the teams left in it, the FA Cup is top priority as you rightly say along with a top three finish.

On a positive note that was our 6th clean sheet out of the last 8 domestic games with only 2 conceded in the last 8.

Shows what a difference it's made dropping Bravo one shot!!

It's frustrating as he has all the skill in the world to do it.

We shouldn't have needed to bring Silva on tonight.

He has different skills to silva..he has a better shot on him...better cross on him but his passing (especially intact passing) and his movement off the ball isn't even close to the level of silva....he is a different type of player to silva and that is why i don't agree when people say he is silva replacement or equal...he isn't..he is a different style of player and I don't think he has the character to take a game but eh scruff of the neck like silva (or even Yaya) has often done......not saying he cant do it in the future but he aint close yet.

If we had won 1-0 in the end no-one would of been questioning the selection. We had some good chances and missed them all. Silva was on for half an hour and we looked better but it didn't make any difference. I don't think Sterling would of made that much difference either, just one of those nights.

On the positive side, unbeaten in 6 and another clean sheet for what you would think is the worst defence in the league. Not a bad time to play Arsenal or Liverpool, Chelsea will be obviously tough but only because they have a manager who really knows what he is doing.

Players get rested and rotate, last season we were dead at the end of the season. The only current top six club that has rotated little has been Chelsea because they ain't in Europe. Even Liverpool have had to rotate. Silva cannot play every match and Sterling looked a little jaded last time out . Pep has to rest players.

If Silva starts Sat then all well and good. If he doesn't then it's a mistake.

When was the last time the shitbag scored in the premier league?

2014?

We were lethargic
All credit to Stoke. Their stifling of the game worked

Why didn't Sane get a foot on that last KDB cross?

No.

No credit to Stoke. There race is ran. They could have come for a game of football, instead Leslie decides to stick one on his former employers.

That's what that was all about. They've been to the big teams this season and they haven't played that way before.

Make no mistake. That was Leslie vs mcfc

When you play Navas you're essentially playing with ten men. He offers nothing as an attacking threat.

yup agree on that one...waste of a team space every time he plays.....not his fault tonight as he wasn't on his own but its a regular occurrence for him

Clean sheet, but we need new full backs. Defending fine, but their attacking play is non-existent.

Silva didn't look tired after Sunderland or when he came on.
Why can't we manage "tiredness" between games? Give the ones you're concerned about time off.

That first 45 mins was about the dullest half I ever watched.

Based on that game, you have to think that Silva is our key man.
