Stoke post match thread

Dropping Raheem was madness, as was playing Navas and Fernandinho.

We look far better without Fernandinho in the middle, like it or not. He needs benching.

KDB was so,so bad tonight.
Whilst we still had very good players on the pitch nothing game about the team was right. The cogs were missing to make it all work. With the shape all gone the better players had to work overtime to try and make amends. We were on a great run why the fuck change things. Madness.

Yes but he wasn't so why is he flinging crosses in like that. He's useless and always has been
Andy Carroll would still have needed a dozen yellow pages to get near those banana foot crosses. Navas is fucking shite, admit it. The guys goal scoring record for a winger at this club says it all. Tired of watching a brain dead headless chicken running in circles only to give it to a creaking fullback or centre half that can't find a blue shirt. He's a mard arse when it comes to putting a foot in. He does his defensive work but that's only noticed because our fullbacks are that shit they need him to. Whenever I see him on the team sheet starting at home I always feel I should have pissed that ticket money up the wall instead, more enjoyable than watching that mard arse nugget hitting defenders shins or spooning the ball over the midgets in the box

Fuck off Navas

Should have started sterling and silva today and gone with navas and garcia over the weekend. This will turn out to be very costly 2 points loss by Pep.

Just got home - why do we keep putting in these dreadful performances at home - we must waste 10 minutes of every home game passing it across the back in our own half.

Yes there were players who played as poor as Navas tonight but he just isn't good enough.

We have some incredible talent in our under 18s why does pep not give them a chance instead of playing the winger who has shown he isn't good enough and when he's sold in the summer it will prove the point.

Some of the best young talent around started playing at 18 and after just being given a chance to step up. Get our young quality players integrated into the team or they will all f*ck off. Garcia hasn't let anyone down, who's to say Sancho wouldn't have had a better game than Navas.

Disappointing first half
Came alive once Silva was introduced
If the purpose was to save Silva and Sterling for the FA cup game then it was an error of judgement on Pep's behalf. Reckon that's a far easier game than Stoke to win.
At the end of the day we still created enough chances to win the game...
Onwards and upwards
I'm not sure we did create that many chances. Their keeper barely made a save of note. We had some nearly situations in the 2nd half. It was one of those games where if you get one, suddenly the football flows and you get another.

Can't keep playing Silva and Sterling every game. Their game will dip if we do that. Sane looked poor tonight. So did KDB. In hindisght I wish we had played Nolito, Iheanacho and then brought on Aguero and SIlva 2nd half. Now we've barely rested anyone and have another game Saturday before Monaco.

Oakie if your going to turn this into a KDB vs Navas battle, then we will once more be in disagreement.

KDB has had many, many great games for us. Scored some wonderful goals, made some great assists and contributed in ways Navas never could.

I'm not blaming Navas for Kevin, or whoever else you've thrown in, for having a poor game. I haven't yet disputed they didn't, because they were all poor tonight.

But Navas is shit. Period.
You see this is the problem with these "so called City fans ".
A high profile player is by some margin allowed a poor game (but not for the first time in succession) but an outsider, like Navas who tried his best, is shit and always will be !! Why ??
At least he put some effort in, so please stop sulking because a so called mega star was shit but a player who is not as good, but turned in a better performance on the night, deserves to be ostracised because of previous performances.
Unbelievable Jeff.

Fuck off Bill !! Common sense doesn`t deserve a post on here !!!

Poor team performance all round outside of kolarov, otamendi and silva when he came on. I keep seeing comments saying we created enough chances to win but outside of silva's I can't think of any clear chances the team created. All the others were half-chances at best including sane's and Iheanacho's effort. In fact that was probably the most toothless the attack has looked in the league for some time and I would argue the team created better chances against everton and chelsea. As for the rest of the performances

Clichy is currently a mid-table full back at best
Sagna is solid defensively but offers virtually nothing going forward
Yaya was fine and probably the best midfielder on the pitch before being subbed
Fernandinho had one of his poorest game in a while
KDB's confidence looks shot lately and outside of two decent crosses into dangerous areas late on offered nothing offensively
Sane tried first half and was the only one looking to make runs in behind but tired in second half and his performance dropped off
Aguero worked his socks off all game and tried his best but had little to no service to feed off from
Navas was Navas
Silva probably MOTM

I understand pep resting sterling but he should've the very least been on the bench. It's led me to believe that pep viewed the other competitions as higher priority to have two of the best players of the season not starting. A player who's been involved in the most goals and provided the breakthrough in the last 4 games for the team was obviously going to be missed but like others have said the team should be more than able to cope without him with the quality they possess.

Do me a favour and dont refer to me as a so called city fan.

I'll leave it there.

No the ref allowed Stoke to kick and foul our players as usually.

Also allowed a lot of time-wasting without adding it on at the end.

Yeah thought so just wondered why we're not as upset about it as we might normally be

Well stop being a mard arse and accept that now and again even our heroes can have a shit game .
You really need to grow a pair of hairy ones.

No.

I disagree with your opinion. I haven't once made it personal. You refer to me as a so called fan.

I've been a season ticket holder since 98.

Last time I communicate with you on this board.

We lacked the option to switch the play to Sterling with Sane being doubled up on. The doubters now know that Sterling is vital to Pep's plan. David's the only match controlling player we have. KDB is a different sort of player - more of a supplier of sublime passes when nothing looks on. Had an off-night tonight. What happened at the end with Sane - did he get anything on it ?

My opinion but that's two sloppy performances in a row (sane and Aguero aside at Sunderland), we could've easily drawn at Sunderland if they could finish, hopefully this drop in form doesn't continue, dinho has not been the same player since the suspensions and debruyne looks out of sorts, really disappointed today, hopefully those 2 points don't bite us in the ass
