Trump vs North Korea

Hopefully the Chinese will rein in North Korea whilst at the same time tell the US to go fcuk themselves.

Trump needs a war to try and deflect away from the truth that's he's a moron and compulsive liar, and he hasn't even reached 100 days.

This will be one conflict where we won't be involved. A madman decides to go to war to try and save his orange ass? He's on his own.

Unless May needs a trade deal and feels potentially thousands of our military die is the price.

I can't see her getting involved tbf.

South Korea cannot take over the North as the Chinese would not accept what would be, basically, a border with the US and the North and China would not take the South due to America's military power

Also, the way N/S Korea border works, Seoul is much closer than Pyongyang. So well within missile range before anyone could do anything about it - that would be curtains for the North but it would take a lot of people with it

I do smile a bit every time i head 'de-militarized zone' due to it actually being one of the most heavily armed and battle ready places on earth. Can they not call it the 'brink of devastating war conflict zone'?

This would be a good resolution under most administrations, control North Korea whilst allowing the Chinese to save face and appear as NK's strong ally. However, Trump wont take anyone, let alone China, telling him to fuck off.

The real obstacle to action/intervention hasn't been so much China, but Russia.

They benefit from North Korean slave labour, particularly in Siberia, which contributes to agriculture, timber and other such industries.

If anyone is going to step in, it will the them. Iran will also be very vocal about it, but there isn't much they can do (unlike Russia).

Neither would any US President in history.

Trump didn't invent American exceptionalism or nationalism, he just embraced it harder than the rest of them. Which is like saying Pete Doherty embraced heroin harder than Boy George. They are all on it and on it bad.
