It's Quiet - a new dawn

If people think we are spending £50m on Danny rose anytime soon they are off their rockers....

1. He's a competent left back nothing more , loads more value to be had in Europe
2. We would be haggling with Spurs all summer long, having to wait until the last minute before he signed, not ideal
3. He's 27, its not like signing a 21 year old John Stones for £50m where you can get more than 10 years return on your investment
4. If we utilise our own players to fill the homegrown quota we dont have to worry about signing English players, we have Roberts , Maffeo, Tosin who are all capable squad players

Rose is arguably the best L/B in the world right now (along with Marcelo and Alaba).

I have some of what you are on...

Rose is fucking unbelievable. The stuff I'm reading about him on here shows the same inherent bias which has led to Sterling being lambasted by so called City supporters too.

If his name was Rosinho and he played for Sao Paolo we'd have petitions to get him signed no matter what the fee.

He is a long way short of Alaba , Alba , Marcelo and Sandro who are the four best left backs in the world right now

Anyway , we wont be signing him so its a moot point

You are embarrassing yourself now with that, what inherent bias is this?

Pretty crazy how underrated he is on here.

He's English, he's black, and he plays for a rival. He could be scoring/assisting 20 goals a season from left back and Bluemoon would still decry that he's overrated, overrpriced, a mercenary, and the only reason City would buy him is because our transfer team is shit. Happy days!

Rose has developed into a world class LB who is arguably Spurs most important player but I can't see Levy selling him as he has a long term contract and they need CL football moving forward year in year out

This Rose > City / Shaw > Spurs story seems to be gathering some momentum. Danny's a northern lad and Shaw's a Londoner. I can see United saying no to selling Shaw, but if they do sell him then I reckon getting Rose becomes much more realistic. Of all the Spurs players he's the one I'd want before any other as well. Imagine Sane/Rose down our left hand side. That'd be filth.

I'm not easily embarrassed big man. You crack on though, and be sure to let me know when you think of a gettable left back who you think is better than Rose.
I can see a move towards playing three at the back next season so I wouldn't splash out on an out and out left back

I would sign full backs who could play in midfield

Heinrichs can play either right or left back and centre mid , he would be my fist option, probably will cost a fair bit ie more than £30m but he is 19/20
Fabinho would be my other choice, again he wont come cheap, more than £30m but again he can play in multiple positions which is a trait that pep loves

That's all good and well for fantasy football. In the real world we're going to sign a specialist left sided full back this summer. Pep prefers balance so the left sided player will be left footed.

Let me know when you come up with one who's actually better than Rose, costs less, and is gettable.

Rose himself isn't gettable as we will find out this summer

It always amazes me mate how many Blue Mooners have their UEFA Coaching Badges. ;)

Unless you're Danny Rose himself or his agent you don't know that. Notwithstanding that, the question remains the same as it was both times I asked it. Since you don't rate Rose you point me in the direction of a left back who you think is gettable and who is better than Rose.

There isn't a full back who is better than Rose at this moment who is also gettable , as we are looking at four players potentially , all out of reach

My opinion is you find someone younger with the potential to be better or at least as good, perhaps Grimaldo or Gaya both could be had for £30m ish, thats if you want an out and out left back

Spot on Rose is the best left back in premier money wise not bothered how much we pay we getting a quality left back.
