Arsenal Post Match Thread.

Arsenal there for the taking low of confidence and ability ... why didnt we smell blood and take it to Chelsea after that wobble......Pep to blame again Im afraid...Its becoming a theme this season just like Klopp
Bit harsh on pep is that, he inherited some players past their sell by date, and, some that were not good enough. Add to that the unfortunate injuries to Gundogan and Jesus, been a bit unlucky too. Be better next season.

Mixed bag again today, get off to a flyer away to Arsenal, a club with a poor recent record, short of confidence and we let them back into it with a shoddy next 25 minutes. It was like we thought we'd done enough...after 4 minutes!...with our dismal defence....not going to happen. Their 1st goal was farcical, we had 4/5 players over the ball from the corner, not a sniff of danger and present them with a tap in.
Not sure what Sterling was on, been mediocre for weeks now...take a look at the other side of the pitch pal at Sane, he is twice the player you are at the moment...strong, pacy, can cross and finish and chases back. Hooked at half time by Pep...ouch....but not surprising.
As for KDB, makes a goal every couple of games then gives the ball away 187 times in between.......doesn't look fit.
Should have buried Arsenal today and sums up our season...so many points dropped in draws, not good enough to hold on for wins, fragile defence and brittle mentality.

This.
We're incapable of winning important games like this.
We've always got the ability to give one or two goals away at any time , Spurs being a perfect example
And today and Monaco.
We can't hold on to a lead.
No leadership on the field.
Not seen anything from the Manager to suggest he is more tactically aware than Uncle P.
Started off well, then reverted to type - passing sideways and backwards and giving possession away cheaply.

And just 1 win vs top 4
Can't win the big games anymore

Not ruthless enough up front and too brittle at the back. Recipe for disaster. Why oh why do we slow the game down tine and time again. There was a few occasions today where if we broke at pace it could have been 4 on 4. But we insist on getting 20 yards out and pass it backwards. So frustrating! Clichy not strong enough for the Walcott goal. And their second was Sunday league. When was the last time a team scored a truly good goal against us. Every time we concede it's down to not applying the basics. It's a comedy.

The manager has to take some blame for the attitude. He's already written off any challenge and
it's the system and the way we play, that seems more important than actual results.
He keeps saying that he's so so happy with his players, surely he can't be THAT happy.
Saying that, there's not a lot he can do until the transfer window opens.
Out of curiosity (and your not the first to have picked up on this), what exactly would you like him to say to the press?

I believe in the manager, BUT, if he can deliver next season, he's going to be called a charlatan living on past glory! Step up Pep, the blues are waiting for your game plan.

Pep has a lot to prove next season, to date he has performed worse than both Bobby and Pellers.

Not losing it, we have lost it. Pep is trying to get it back.

As I see it our performances against big teams have been much improved to last season, but as said we haven't killed the games off.

At the same time though, our record at Arsenal, and and anfield for that matter, wasn't great under Mancini or Pelligrini.

Generally I'd take a point at the Emirates although I can understand today's disappointment.

Our record at Liverpool and Arsenal is shite under every manager.

Look at it this way, Pep brought 4 starters in this transfer window, two of them started today and were our better players (Sane, Stones). Rest two are out with unfortunate injuries. (Not counting Bravo, he was a fuck up that no one expected.)
I very much believe that next season we'll get it right. Pep now knows what he wants and what this team needs.
My only criticism of him tactics wise would be playing De Bruyne deeper, It just doesn't suit his game. He is a natural no.10 and should always be played behind the man up top.

Hope Pep rips the squad apart in the summer and shakes things up bigtime. We need new defenders, new CMs, a new GK, new leadership on the pitch, more physicality, more stature and a brand new attitude throughout the squad. Apart from the over the hill gang needing to be moved on, if any of the remaining players aren't giving 100% every game then bench them until they do. No time for sentimentality - big changes are badly needed. One key will be keeping Gabriel Jesus fit all season. More importantly two or three new fullbacks and a new CB to play alongside Stones and a top class GK.

Exactly I have 100% faith in pep.
If we get top 3 and win the cup it will be a decent season.
People need to remember it's a 're building season
I haven't got quite the trust you have,I think he's been poor at times. That said back in August I said top 3 and a cup and it will have been a good first season. We still are on track so all is good. Expect much more next season though.

Thought The Arse would find some form today and we'd get chinned so at least we're a point better off than I'd expected.
Exactly how I see it. Happy with a point from them.

Some huge over reactions in here, pep can't make them pass it to each other and stop losing the ball, things will be great next year, have patience
