Unbelievable, pep is the problem not him,he is not a deep lying playmaker

As nuts as it sounds, I'm not entirely disagreeing.

Then again, I'm not willing to write him off just yet. On his day he's our best player. His stats are phenomenal.

But in saying that, if we Sane/Jesus/Sterling is our future, the only way Kev has a future is if we adjust the system and go 3 at the back, which may be the long term plan anyways.

But he's not a fit for this system and his confidence is crashing, along with his effectiveness.

I think Pep was quite clear in seeing him as more of a wide attacker than a CM in the pre-season/early season. I don't personally see it as I don't think he's got the pace and trickery to do much but I suspect he's going to be playing in the front 3 at some point next season.

I think many are too critical here, anyway. I don't know where we'd be without him as he creates so many chances. If half his posts had gone in we'd probably have people calling him our player of the season in spite of some of the dips.

Poor Kev, getting a lot of criticism.

Personally i think he's easily got the ability to play a deeper role. He's not quite as brilliant as Silva playing in tight spaces and protecting the ball though, so relies more on the movement and availability of others, which at the moment is inconsistent.

Yeah, only top of the assists chart and he's the woodwork more than any other player. Really awful - not.

Hitting the woodwork is nothing to boast about. Especially when you consider some of the sitters he's put onto the post or the bar.

That said, just think of how many assists Kev could get if we had a strong tall CF in our ranks.

How would a back three work? Unless we opted for a 3-2-2-3 then I can't see how we can utilise him, Sterling and Sane in a back three.

need to play in the position he did earlier on in the season, pep is playing him deeper but kev doesn't have the engine for it? we looked better at the start of the season when silva was deeper and kev playing in just behind the strikers.

Jack of all trades ..... it's not entirely on Kev here.... He's a 7/10 CM, a 7.5 Winger, and a 9/10 #10 imo. I had serious reservations about this deeper role. I also had them for Dave but he's adjusted much better....He's 100% earned another half season before any serious criticism imo.

...............Keeper...............
Stones.....Kompany......Other
Sane..Gundogan..Silva...Sterling
.................KDB..................
.........Jesus........Kun.........

But then you've got Sane and Sterling so deep they're ineffective.

You're thinking too much about this years problems though mate. With the right ball playing, mobile middle around them, they'd be right up the field.

Not saying this is exactly how it would work, but its a version of it.

Simply has the talent, I just think he could do with a rest

He's just had one. Belgium gave him the week off during international break.

I think that's just an easy excuse tbh. Looking exhausted and being exhausted are two different things. He looks gassed, but I think that's just the way he looks regardless if he is or isnt.

He has that red cheeks thing as thats his pale skin type,he looks knackered when he isn't
As i've already said he does not suit the deeper role and pep should put him where he is most effective,he is more of a high risk player not controlling the ball like yaya or dave,i don't get why pep keeps playing him where he does
