Arsenal(FA Cup Semi Final) Post Match Thread

TBH the result hasn't massively upset me....what has is the idiot who was sat behind me and throughout the game racially abused our players in front of his young son and when confronted didn't give a shit and decided it was his opinion

Shocked to say the least
Gingers are not a race ........

There's a few regular posters in the Pep Cabal mate, you can't question his judgement without being a Rag, Idiot etc.

He's having a poor season and should be questioned.
Absolutely,we all want what's best for City but he is not immune from criticism. He is lucky his name is Guardiola

That game was our season summed up in 120 mins.
Just what I was going to post.
Missed chances, pointless side passing, poor penetration, shit refereeing and the usual game changing wrong decision, promising start and better play but ultimately failure.
Oh well!!! Always next year....If Trump doesn't blow everyone up by then :(

Ive got no idea but we get the penalty and goal given ad we win that game today comfortably.

The manager and players are not super human and can over come all!

they will also be fucked off with it completely as most of us are.

Don't think ours was a penalty. Certainly no more nailed on than Arsenal's. Both Sanchez and Kun went over too easily in my opinion. Obviously the goal should have stood. Unlucky with the header but Arsenal had a couple of unmarked headers that they missed.

Essentially we were unable to hold onto a lead as our defending is poor. We regularly dominate possession against top sides but as Chelsea showed yesterday that means jack shit.

I can only hope the poor officiating and bad luck are money in the bank for next year.
Maybe a penance for our future success
Please?

City 20 shots 3 on target 1 goal.

Arsenal 9 shots 3 on target 2 goals.

For me that sums up our season. Practice shooting and for a start try to give the goalie something to do.

On the plus side I think Pep and his team are going to have to have a real hard look at the situation in the close season, he may have to re evaluate how to play in the preier league and certain principles that he may want to keep might have to go out of the window.

Top 4 now gets our full focus and it is going to be a tough ask.

This.

Gone or not.He will continue to be top 5 in the world. Could be something that City regret doing. And I can picture this place time and time again wishing they had Aguero.

He'll be gone because the team has moved on from the way he plays - it's not that he won't adapt, i think he physically can't adapt. I also think he's definitely lost a yard of pace and quickness of feet. In spite of his goals, he's general play has been really poor this season which is why he was out of the team as soon as Jesus was fit/elgigble

The performance today really wasn't that bad. No one could argue we weren't the better side. It's the nature of cup football.

You can add a reluctance to shoot to that list.

We didn't create too many clear chances today. I thought we were fairly average against an average Arsenal.

I think the Sterling's disallowed goal was a key moment in the match as we were dominating at that point. Arsenal dug deep in the first half defensively and so we could not create clear chances, it got a bit more open in the second half. Silva going off also was another key moment, which ties into the theme of things not going our way today.

i do agree with you on that one......there was a foul by someone (i think Xhaxa) where he came down lat over the top on someones knee...it was subtle but nothing was given for it other than a free kick...it was at least a yellow...not to mention the one on silva which in the long run if he is out will cost us more

For the winner Yaya chips the player beautifully who then blocks Yaya by falling over and low and behold its an Arsenal free kick.

Play then goes wide where low and behold they get yet another cheap free kick from which they score.

Thats how refs affect games and thats how they cheat.

Today for 120 mins pawson was almost perfect and he got his job done!

This game sums up our season. 3/4 shafted by a refs and unlucky equal measures, 1/4 careless. Disappointed...and almost had a fight in the pub with a geezer who is not evenly Arsenal. Some WHU chav who has already developed visceral hatred for us. I cannot complain about Pep at all. We play some top quality football, but for some reason we don't score. Bring back Edin and Mario. :)

We keep blaming the ref but nothing ever Changes. Kicked off the park yet again and nothing is done however we were not good enough. No passion, No fight, slow build up, Strange substitutions. Sane looked dead on his feet most of the 2nd half yet we take Sterling off.

What happened to getting rid of the typical city tag? What happened to fighting till the end? What happened to #together.

Can't argue with his talent but does tend to go missing at vital moments

I don't think he does go missing. He had numerous opportunities today to make a decisive impact and didn't take any of them. He was very ineffective today and the same goes for Sterling. The only excuse is they are young and this tends to mean inconsistent. Sane made some good runs but the link up with KDB just wasn't there.
