I'd start of with an opinion, move it forward 10yds, then go back to my starting point. I'd pass that opinion onto my neighbour on my left and see what he thinks, he'd give it straight back to me. I'd then try my neighbour to the right hand side. He'd move forward with the opinion change his mind and give it back to me. I'd give it straight back to the wife and move out wide to the shed. The wife would throw a new opinion with a slightly different angle. I'd try and move forward with that but seeing no-one to expand that idea with, I'd take the safe option and pass it sideways again. Eventually time would run out, I would have had 71% possession of the opinion but f**k all to show for it!

Spot on. Nail on head.

It's not a boxing match, it does not go to the judges score cards at the end ,it's about goals. Stopping them and scoring them.

Average. Disappointing. Frustrating. Glad to see the back of it.
If it's the same next season, then Pep will be in trouble.

Below par, Pep gets us to the final third well and then the players are the ones in control, we know this is how he works so players need to take some blame here. We have been very wasteful in the final third. That wastefulness translates into other teams more willing to have a go and not worry about just keeping the beating to a low score. A team desperately worried about a cricket score is not thinking how to score 5 past you, currently teams do think they have a chance.

Our defence has been rocky all season and only showing some solidity just now with Kompany back, seeing that it is obvious we must keep him and hope his fitness holds, he is simply to good. All of it can be traced back to our wastefulness though imo and that is down to the players if we believe Pep gets them there (final third) and leaves it to them from that point onward. We are improving though so i am not angry, it is very hard to make the changes needed at this level and have them work all the time, i get that so i am not pissed off.

Possession of the ball is easy when the opposition don't even want the ball.

I've really enjoyed some of the football, and seeing Jesus and Sane. I'll always enjoy Silva and it's great to see my man Yaya mastering a new role, and VK playing consecutive games. Pep can be stimulating.

I'm not going to go into the rest.

Disappointing, but not without positives.

Positives

Return of Kompany
Signings of Jesus and Sane who are or will be outstanding players.
The pattern of play. We have a purpose even if we are blunt

Negatives

Players like Zab, Sagna,Kolarov, Toure growing old. Aguero also struggling
Some City fans. Moan moan moan with nostalgic nonsensical views of an MCFC that never was. If City has changed, so have a lot of fans.
Bravo. Signing a disaster. Saddened me to see that some City fans almost seemed to delight in his failure.

Aguero on track for his best goal return and stayed largely fit?

Will be a poor season reargdless if we finish fourth and ahead of the rags. The season has just not been goood enough. There's no papering over it.

I was excited when Pep came, and can understand giving him until the end of next season to judge properly, but one has to question how have Conte, Pellegrini, even that twat of a manager at the scum have managed to win silverware immediatly.
From one perspective the team may not be geared too much tomhis philosophy, however, he should've made compromises. We'd be a lethal counter attacking team for example with the pace on the break as we showed today.

Pelle and Conte due to certain factors. For Chelsea, no European games whatsoever. Went out of the Capital One too. Hardly that many distractions for them. With Pelle, old guard weren't as old. It was a close finish. Not necessarily dominated the league. Team regressed under him. Only quality of the players papered over some cracks and such.

Watching the way they play, you can see what Pep is trying to do. United hardly got a sniff. It's been the same for a lot of the games when City have lost. Players haven't just been as up to it this season. I know the mantra people chant is about the defence but the profligacy in front of goal is alarming. Too many chances missed. Sterling can't score and he gets in good positions. KDB and some of the others have been out of form. Nonetheless, I can see what Pep is trying to achieve. Only thing to do now is get behind the time

He finishes well, but truth is he is easily controlled by defenders now. He gets space outside box by coming deep, but inside the box he is always marked and lacks pace to get away from his marker. I predict that City would look a lot more potent an attacking force with a quick forward. We can't reate clear-cut chances because Aguero can't accelerate into space

Sterling needs to improve his goal scoring.

Next season we'll have Sane for a full season, and Gabriel Jesus so it will be totally different. Goal scoring should be less of an issue. We already have the answers in our squad, we just need to get them on the pitch

I can't disagree with that and I also think he'll go. Letting players play until their their past it hasn't worked either. I only hope our stance on Mbappe, and we are in for him, is posturing if he does go.

Aguero will either have to fight for a place alongside him or move on.

Well our season has finished now so we can rate it properly. Earlier in the thread I think I said a 5.5/10 going up to a 6/10 if we finish strongly in third.
I will go with the 6/10, not winning anything or getting to any finals has to be a disappointment as is being 15 points behind the winners. Against that we have had some very poor refereeing decisions, been a little unlucky (though not 15 points unlucky) and have considerably improved on our points total from last season.
There is plenty there to build on with some flashes of outstanding football, next season we must make sure that we do build on it.

B-

Way off the pace and some woeful team performances.

But some real positives that make me look forward to next season.

I agree with this assessment
We need to find a way past the teams that are around us
Only a point each from Tottenham and Liverpool and none from Chelsea really cost us
Take another three each from Spurs and Liverpool and four from Chelsea and it's a totally different league table
