Youri Tielemans now linked. I wonder which 'ITK' will now know info about him signing now its been said in the press? :-)
Didn't score many at Barca in a holding role, had a similar strike rate for Monaco from open play as he has for City.

I believe very reliable sources have Tielemans 90% of the way to Monaco, he flew back from the united game via Monaco and had a meeting there with his agent.
If we did get him it'd be great, has the potential to be a brilliant midfielder and has the passing range we'll miss with Yaya going.
Well that renders all your future posts as "in the bin" material, cheers for the heads up.
We can’t keep buying 18/19 year olds for millions based on potential.
This is why I want Sanchez. I know he is old at 28 but 3 years we would get out of him at a top top level. Goals and assists.
I think the problem with predicting players with Pep is summed up perfectly with Walker. We're assuming that he's going to want similar players to those he had at Barca & Bayern, or he'll try to do what he tried in September with the fullbacks, when he could well have decided he doesn't want a flexible full back who can come inside anymore, he just wants someone to bomb down on the overlap because that's what suits the Premier League best.
Our current midfielders are 34, 30, 31, 27, 27, 31, 26 and a 19 year old who never plays.
It's hard to take seriously anyone who doesn't think some young legs would be worthwhile, nor someone who looks at the likes of Sané and Jesus coming into the team and thinks we shouldn't be looking a the best young players in Europe.
We're obviously looking at players in their prime like Walker 27 and Sanchez 28, there's no need to get scared of the idea we might look at a teenager as well.
I hope and expect to see Garcia get more playing time next season. I think he should take the squad place of either Fernando or Delph. Further I would let Yaya go and get Fabinho as replacement. With Gündogan back our midfield would look better that way.Our current midfielders are 34, 30, 31, 27, 27, 31, 26 and a 19 year old who never plays.

1 in 3.3 across 10 or so appearances for us or 10 in 106 for Dortmund and a fair few of them penalties? He's a Modric style player, not a Lampard or Yaya.
My own personal opinion is that 18/19 is way to early to judge a player. So these 40/50m purchases IMO aren't the answer to creating a 'future dream team'.
23/24 is a much better age to sign these youngsters for me. That's the age i would prefer we focused on.
when this lad came through he had everything but size, there were bids and he rejected them, for me that was a mistake. he has not improved since and others have overtaken him.as for bids for him they are usually mid table teams now
Sorry, but that's an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.
Tielemans has played 4 full seasons of football. He's played 3 seasons in the Champions League. If 180 professional games isn't enough for the world's best coaches and scouts to figure out he's good enough than the game is gone. If nothing else the fact Monaco are desperate to sign him should tell you everything you need to know when half of Europe wants to buy their starting XI.
You look at Gabriel Jesus and you know immediately that he's good enough.
Anyway you're going to be disappointed, Pep's made it incredibly clear that he likes working with very young players and he's become the most successful coach in the world by doing that, he's not going to change any time soon, he'll always like buying young even if he brings in a couple of mid twenties players.

No, it’s not a ridiculous thing to say at all. A lot of changes happen between the ages of 18 and 24.
Name one great, truly great player who didn't look like they were going to be a world beater until 24?
Surely Bale wasn't far off that age before improving?

Take Bale then.
Like you just pointed out to the last chap with all his figures and stats....
At what age was he bought by Real Madrid???.... 23!!
Like i said, you know a lot more at that age what you are getting. He'd done the hard years 18-23 at other clubs.
Madrid were getting almost the final product at a good age with still more to come from him.
Just out of interest how old was Ronaldo when Real Madrid bought him?
He was bought at 23 for a world record transfer...are you saying you want all of our transfers to be £70, £80m and above?
Or would it make 100x more sense to have bought him at 21 for 1/10th of the cost when it was already painstakingly clear he was going to go on to be world class, and he was already perfroming well enough to be in the TOTY?
