I just saw that and thought to myself "someone in graphics is getting sacked in the morning".

Are they that hard up for competent defenders? Because perhaps we can start a support group of some kind after the match.

Having a Goalkeeper on the bench is recommended :) the 4 defenders is why we've drawn too many games this season though :(

I'm hoping 3-4-3, Clichy is no less useless at LCH and that midfield looks too fragile with Dinho at right back.

Honestly, and I actually really like the lad, if Navas is not starting at right back I'd sooner have Sancho or Diaz on the bench in his place.

Have you seen Clichy attempting to win an aerial duel? It's like the early days when you had to jump with all your might just to grab a biscuit from the top of the cupboard.

He usually fails to get his biscuit.

Fernandinho adds flexibility at the back, he can slot into midfield if needed.
Good line up, Silva and Yaya pulling the strings, Jesus will be a handful upfront

Was thinking more that Delph isn't there, good point about Zaba though. We're lacking effective options for the bench, end of. Not much we can do about it until the summer, obviously Guardiola doesn't think the young lads are ready. (Sancho is off with England anyway iirc and he's the most suitable).

More often successful there then when going for his "6 inch vertical" as the folk here joke. he reminds me if the lads playing basketball with ankle weights for training... only he forgets to take them off for the match.

Fair enough. I imagine we could have easily convinced Sancho to stay with a place on the bench and potential first team action (had that started earlier, of course).

But, even beyond whether they are ready, I think Pep knows not everyone is going to leave in the summer (much to many poster's chagrin) and he needs to manage egos and expectations to make sure team chemistry is not impacted. You do not want players stewing over holiday (a la United after their disastrous Moyes period).
