We have inequality, that's different from child poverty. Last I looked we had free education free school meals, child allowance and housing benefit .

That chart was done to death a while ago on the forum.
Labour borrowing was high in 2008 and 2009 because of the global financial crisis.
If the Tories had then adopted a sensible deficit reduction programme ( rather than the crash and burn policy up to 2012 followed by drug injections to revive the economy) we probably would have eliminated the deficit by now and been reducing the national debt of 1.7tn.

Precisely my point. Labour should have carried on growing the surplus from 2002 through 2007 in order to cope with the effects of a recession. Instead, Brown arrogantly claimed that it was the end of boom and bust and started to spend more than he had, when relatively, he had an awful lot. Labour essentially made the recession a lot harder than it had to be.

We're not in africa!! Fuck me, how difficult is it to see that child poverty has doubled, the use of food banks has more than doubled and there is a nursing shortage across the board? Not exageration, not my assumptions but actual facts...all under the strong and stable tories.
