Are we the only team to lose their last match at an old ground?

Speaking of Dave the leg, Wigan's last match at Springfield Road was that 99 division 2 playoff against us, when Dickov equalised to make it 1-1, and the Goat settled the game at Maine Road. Not sure what happened in the final...

What's all this about Whelan's leg? Did I miss something?
Someone was telling me he broke his leg the other day, have to say it was the first I'd heard of it, so I'm a bit skeptical as to the veracity of the info.

I do sometimes lol at your 'typical City' stuff, your'e really not as "bad" as you like to think you are. You're a massive club who have spent most of your history in and around the top tier and have history of winning cups and playing in Europe, there are are far more clubs out there who have a much worse record than you lot, but i suppose they don't have that lot down the road to compare themselves to which would be enough to give anyone an inferiority complex.

Take my club, Reading as an example:

As someone asked the question, Reading lost our last game at our old ground Elm Park, 0 - 1 v Norwich, we were relegated that season, although the last game didn't mean anything as we had been down for a while anyway!

Another terrible record that i think we share with Brentford is that we are the only clubs to have lost play off finals at Old Wembley, Cardiff and New Wembley.

We are also one of the only (i think) clubs to finish 2nd in the Championship (2nd Div as was) and not go up (as it was the year that the Premiership was reducing from 24 - 20 teams). We went into the play offs, were 2-0 up after 30 minutes and had a penalty awarded to us - we missed it - we lost 4-3.

It took us 135 years to even get into the Top Flight for the first time in our history.

You lot don't know how lucky you are!

"Typical City" isn't just about negatives, even though they cemented the saying. Take the 3-2 Aguero winner for example.

If someone had the time to compile the list of typical City moments you wouldn't hesitate in taking back the "lol".

The biggest one is that we were the only club ever to be relegated from England's top division as champions, and we scored the most goals that season (obviously conceded the most too). No one will ever beat that.

We have it better than most yeah but it's also context. We have that lot as rivals and underachieved for the size of the club for 4 decades. When we went down to the 3rd tier in the late 90's, we were the biggest club to ever do so and we then won back to back promotions on the last day each time. One of which we scored twice in injury time to take to penalties.

There's been more drama over the years at City than any club in terms of last day of season survival/promotion/title winnings/relegations.

There's been several times when we've been leading the race for promotion, only to appear to fuck it up and then scrape through and similarly with title wins.

Typical City is having a shite season and fighting relegation, playing an inform Spurs side who are in the top 6, in the cup, being down to 10 men and 3-0 down at half time and winning 3-4 in added time.

Typical City is keeping the ball in the corner thinking 2-2 will keep you up, like we did in 1996, then realising with 90 seconds left the bloke in the crowd with the radio who the manager had trusted with his job, was incorrect and we neeeded to win. Ensuring relegation. And yes that paragraph is true. A random fan with a radio shouted to the bench that we needed to hold on for a draw, which we did, only to be wrong.

We've won the league 4 times in our history and the last 3 from 1968 onwards have all been down to last day wins, two of which we pipped Utd marginally.

When we say "typical City", it's because we never do anything easy and never will, rather than overall lack of success. It's losing when winning seemed inevitable and it's winning when losing seemed inevitable.

There's bucket loads of examples but I'm going to sleep.
