Under any normal circumstances obviously I'd be fully behind Ajax, but these aren't normal circumstances. The game just seems irrelevant to me. It's hard to give a fuck about football just 24 hours after what has happened.

Ric, sorry, but I'm very happy to justify an Ajax win. All day long. Last night was atrocious. But has it changed my mindset? No. If it had, terrorism has won. And it hasn't. And it won't. And for that, I'm VERY happy to say, very, very happy to say: fuck you Unitd. I hope you get annihilated by Ajax. I really do.

Fair enough, each to their own. Terrorism hasn't exactly changed my mindset either. I just think a football game less than 48 hours after such an atrocity seems meaningless to me.

I was blown out of my flat by the IRA in '96. I lived above the Arndale Centre. I had tickets for a Euro '96 game that day (France v Spain? Elland Rd I think, but can't remember for sure) but I was forced to move out for 18 months whilst my flat was patched up etc. That day, Manchester dodged a bullet. Yesterday, it didn't. When would be a good time to crack on as normal? 24hrs? 46? 96? There's no answer would appeal to all. You say the game tomorrow will be meaningless. If we waited two weeks would it regain its meaningfulness? The game's as relevant tomorrow as it would be in 2/3/4/5 weeks' time. So, for that reason, I say: COME ON AJAX. BATTER THEM.
 
Last nights events are tragic and your heart goes out to the families affected , but the Rags getting stuffed by Ajax will not only cheer me up it will give me the ammunition to totally take the piss out of any Rag i bump into for the whole of the summer.
 
Shed a few tears today reading various accounts about last nights events. Some horrific, some heartwarming. At no point did I ever stop and think that a utd victory would make me feel any better about the whole thing. Hope Ajax Turn them over.

Had the attack been at the swamp on Sunday or if the game today was being played in Manchester I'd agree with you. But it wasn't and it isn't, so I say carry on as you were.
On a personal level I had loads of anti rag memes lined up to splatter facebook with yesterday and today. I kept them to myself. It wasnt the time or the place. I want the rags to lose but wont be rubbing it in their faces if they do. Come on Ajax
 
Can't see anything but a Rags win unfortunately and I don't see it being close to a 50/50 game. This Ajax have looked shaky in Europe when travelling. They got beaten pretty easily by Rostov earlier in the season, f**k knows how Schalke didn't beat them with 10 men and Lyon put in two of the worst defensive displays I've seen in Europe in recent memory. They can look good going forward but defensively they've looked naive at times in Europe.

Fully expect the rags to pack the midfield with Pogba, Herrera and Fellaini and turn it in to a physical shower of s**t

If there's one thing they've got semi good at this season is s**t park the bus 1-0 wins. Got Rags 1-0 or 2-0 written all over it for me.

I'll be chuffed to be proved wrong.
 
Yesterdays tragedy and the reaction of greater mancunian football community comimg together was a good thing and a credit to our communities, and I agree though also in the scheme of things this isn't really important and last thing on my mind.

but we have to carry on as normal and so I hope Ajax stuff the bastards.
 
I know the timing of the atrocity and the game are beyond anybody's control.
Please Ajax don't fold tonight.

I know what you mean Ric but life must go on otherwise perhaps the aim to disrupt our way of life by those who caused the explosion will be seen to have a lasting effect.
Those who do not want to watch can surely turn off their TV´s because whatever they see as a program rather than football is surely just as disagreeable after such a terrible happening.
